I thought you did leave him a while ago? But since then you've posted things that mad it clear you're not happy. So, do it. Leave him & start anew. Don't leave it even longer.

I speak from experience. The inevitable was put off for far, far too long. Once the move was made, the weight was lifted & my life just took off. Good luck, you won't regret it.

A while ago he said that, he was thinking about us splitting up which put me in a bit of a spin, then a day later he was all sweetness and light again. So i left things for a while. I started going to couples therapy, on my own cus he didnt want to spend the money on going and thinks its all bollocks. Then this week i saw an email he'd sent to his mate saying that he could see me dragging out the therapy for over a year and wasnt going to hang around to see the outcome. I've been reluctant to finish things because we have been together for 10 years apart from a short break a few years ago, and i've put so much into it.

However i've come to the realisation that i'm fighting so hard to save a relationship that i get nothing out of. He has very little respect for me, and no committment, as every time we have a spat he says why dont we just split then.

The last straw was last week when i put up little post-its to remind him to be nicer. He was there when i did it because he always forgets what he's promised. So i thought a gentle reminder might improve things. The day after that i got a little note from him saying you promised me loads of sex in Florence, i've booked the tickets. I got really emotional as i felt he had made the grand gesture to show that he was committed etc. Then he says nah i was just f**king with you.

The more i stay the more my self esteem disappears.

So yeah i think i am leaving its just a question of when and how at the moment. As yet again i walk out a relationship with nothing to show for it. All our possessions have been bought by him so i take my clothes and books and thats about it.

I'm looking to rent a room in london.

:(

Thanks for your advice and support everyone.

I'm off to spend a week at my brothers house to help with the kids while my sister in law is in america, so i'll have time to work out what i need to do next.

I can't leave until payday anyway so getting away for a few days is a good idea i think.

Most cerrrrtainly not. I spent the entire night totally sober, waiting for my housemate to say he was ready to drive us home. And then he decided he wanted to stay the night. So me and the housemate I got frisky with a while ago decided to get a taxi home...and then we found it'd be £50. So we both slept on the sofa bed. And he snuggled right up to me. Most likely to keep warm because it was freezing, but regardless, I'm not too keen on his mixed messages :/

Is there anywhere at all you can stay between your week at your brother's & payday? You've decided to go. Your mind is made up. If you can do it now, so much the better. It's all too easy to just drift back to your old ways.

Be strong, you deserve it.

    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
