Actually, maybe I want a convertible; They cost far more than the standard model & lack strength in the roof, but the top comes off at the touch of a button. And of course everyone looks at you like you're a bit of a knob, but they're secretly a little bit jealous.

I've just hired a convertible (a car, not a girl) for my Florida trip in March. I never really thought of the knob factor. Although I suppose pretty much whatever you drive over they're you're gonna look a bit of a nob. So I may as well look a nob in a Mustang Convertible

Righty ho peeps, everyone that's mentioned their single state on here so far don't need to bother, but if anyone else wants on the list, then pm with the following:

Male/Female

Gay/Straight/Bi

and.....

1. Single and still believin' (looking for a relationship- this is what I read it as, if this isn't you omskus and SuperDaisy, let me know!)

2. Single and open to offers (open to whatever comes my way!)

3. Single and happy (keeping things casual)

4. Single and not looking (self explanatory)

5. Single and disillusioned (so definetely not looking!!)

6. Bah Humbug to the lot of it.

As soon as there's a decent sized list I'll post it up.

Any suggestions/single status' I've missed/randomness let me know. I'll compile the list as like I said, I've time on me hands of an evening, but I don't want to be a complete takeover-type :P

Well, I was kinda joking about the whole twat factor thing. I realise not everyone who drives a convertible is a twat

I can't wait - i think i'm looking forward to driving as much as anything else! :) It should be about 70-75F when I'm there, so that's about right. It will be my first time;

  • Driving on the right

  • Driving a LHD

  • Driving an automatic

  • Driving a RWD

  • Driving.... in fact being in a car with the top down at all

  • Driving a car with an engine bigger than a 1.4.

  • Using Sat-nav

  • Right-turn on red

Could be interesting! I'm blatantly going to go straight into a concrete wall before I've left the airport

Sorry, I appear to have turned this into the 'my hire car' thread! I'm hoping to get some action when i'm out there, if that helps :P

Where is Leprekorn?

I'm not very impressed with his behaviour as of late... He keeps showing up on the "users reading this topic" list but I haven't seen a post in ages.

So Leprekorn, if ya reading this can you give us an update and let us know how things are going. I'm not taking any excuses barr your hands having fallen off, but even then you could at least just mash the keyboard with your palm.

Thanks for the reassurance  I'm doing a few hundred miles on my first & last days, and the rest will be just pottering about unless I feel like heading off somewhere for the day. I think i'll be fine on the highways, its the awkward things like negotiating parking lots, and putting it in the right gear while at traffic lights etc I'm a little worried about.

edit; I've been watching the Top Gear where they did the fly/drive through Florida, that's put me right in the mood :P

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
