While I'm no Franz Ferdinand fan, you need to calm down and accept that people like different things.

And if 'Given to Fly' is your favourite Pearl Jam song then you need to listen to Led Zep's 'Going to California' and ask yourself just how creative Pearl Jam have been since they ripped off the Zep's inlay photo on Vs...

while its true given to fly is based out of going to california I ask is it wrong to steal from thieves? Led Zep are renowned for lifting other ppls music and using it as there own. Initially they didnt even credit those artistrs.

and labelling all pearl jam fans as 'tetchy' when really theres is only one person you refer to isnt really on either

such accusations ;) sure I hate a lot of bands but only when they deserve it

other than nickleback i dont recall slagging other bands off - as for those other 2 perhaps you have a point but mostly I agree with them :P

 I know... Tetchy Pearl Jam fans... It makes me laugh though, it's like being at school: "My mum's better than your mum, no my mum's better than yours..." and people get so aggressive about it!

People just need to chill! Pearl Jam, fine band though they are, have their faults - as does every band. Just slating everyone else while whittering on about how great Pearl Jam are is just pointless.

If you have a look you'll see that me and Olivavu were having a laugh about Franz Ferdinand. If people get upset then why don't they look away, instead of chastising the naughty trouble makers like all the good boys and girls did at school.

Never have I ever been so I.Q.-less as to say 'my mams better than your man'. I don't need to say it, Franz Ferdinand are sh*te and Pearl Jam are not. Those with any sense have figured this.

Anyway, with all that cleared up can I get to the true nature of this debate and state that 'My Mam is better than all of your Mams put together'. ;)

Sorry but I wont accept that. They may not be to your taste but Franz are not Sh*te. They have there flaws, but they are still an alright band. They can play there instruments well, the singers always up for it, the drummer is great, and they have some good licks and hooks.

*****'Franz Ferdinand's album arrives packed not just with fizzing guitars, disco-influenced drums and intriguing shifts in tempo, but also memorable songs, laden with hooklines and startling riffs.'

'Guardian'

9/10 'The Album That Saved Indie'

'Playlouder'

*****terrifically exciting debut, imbued with a zest, energy and songwriting flair that warrants -- perhaps even commands -- some sort of attention.

'Splendid'

****'The songs feel like they're boiling over, there's so much heat under them'

'Mojo'

**** 'Insanely catchy and perfect for singing along with.'

'Almost cool'

***Franz Ferdinand's music possesses an intriguing, passive-aggressive kind of wasted elegance that never quite pays off.

In fact the worst review I could find for a magazine was from rolling stone who said

3 1/2 'For once, the inevitable U.K.-press hype is justified: Franz Ferdinand's debut draws from beloved Brit pop and post-punk bands without the usual plagiarism'

Hardly a bad review and thats the worst!

Thats a load. You know your wrong and try to prove it by single handedly rejecting positive reviews from the most well respected music journalists on the planet. I tried to stear clear of the fanboy reviews (NME, Q etc) and gone for reviews by some Decent magazines, but again you reject them and think your right - again. I would accept that you find them average or boring, if you could accept that a lot of other people find them the oppisite of that. But somehow I dont think you could.

    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
    • If we are guessing then I think it's   Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls   Weezer   The All-American Rejects
