Yeah, Scissor Sisters is a big draw and negates the need to buy a headline ticket for them elsewhere. They were superb supporting Pet Shop Boys this year.

I wouldn't go as I don't have the time or the money. The only reason I'd have Truck over it is The Libertines don't require a Thursday ticket but the undercard isn't as good.

Do we know the Quarry headliner’s?

This year at Tramlines Rizzle Kicks were opposite Reytons, so there's one possibility. I'm also wondering if Fratellis and The Enemy might be on there or maybe The Snuts. Could also still be one TBC

Rizzle Kicks are marked as "special guests" so you'd assume early main stage slot to get people into the arena and out of their camps spending £££

I’m not a fan of The Streets so would be very happy if The Enemy or Snuts were Sunday quarry headliners.

Does anyone have the 2025 map?

can find other years but wasn’t there last year so wanted to see any changes, particularly around access.

The big change, which I liked for generally getting around the site was the cut through between Big Gin and The Quarry, albeit closed before the headline.

Can anyone tell me a bit about the festival?
I'm thinking of travelling over from Sweden with some friends. But we're wondering if it's worth it.
There are around 20 bands I'd personally would love to see, and it's not often, if ever, that they come to Sweden.

So purely from a music point of view, it's definitely worth it. But festivals like R&L, Kendal, Truck, Tramlines, etc. also have nice line-ups.
We've never been to a festival in the UK before, so it's completely new territory to explore.
What is the atmosphere like? What is the average age of the audience? I will be 35 next year and don't want to feel like an old man 😅
What is worth considering?
What is the campsite like?
What are the prices for food and drinks?
I assume you can bring alcohol to the campsite? Or do they have a shop like Co-op at the campsite where you can buy some?
I would be grateful for as much information as possible if anyone would be kind enough to write a little. It would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I have only been to Y Not Festival on a day ticket so cannot comment on the camping element although My Son has camped and says it it is a really good atmosphere and very relaxed compared to the likes of Leeds & Reading and yes you can take beers into the campsite.  Not sure about on site shop.

The setting is beautiful being in the Derbyshire Countryside.

Regarding the age of people it is very mixed.  I am in my early 50's and did not feel old at all.   There are lots there in the 30-40 bracket.

Beer will probably be about £7 a Pint so imagine cheaper than Sweden.  There are plenty of choices for food outlets and would say £10 - £14 a meal.

I attend Tramlines every year which is really good especially with it being in a City and can stay in a Hotel rather than Camping.

Hi.  The security at YNOT is very good,  if safety is important for you then you can relax and enjoy the festival.  There are sniffer dogs around the festival so be warned.

The atmosphere is relaxed, wide age range without gangs of drugged up / drunken people often seen at some festivals.

Campsite can be noisy, you can take alcohol into the campsite on arrival but not into the arena.  Drinks are £8.00 and a meal around £14.00. There are no shops selling alcohol on site.

The toilet facilities are really good and put other festivals to shame.  There will be many good bands on the smaller stages,  have a listen when the full line up is released and you will find something.  One of my favourite last year were a Swedish band called Hearts.

I'd say that for camping, particularly if you're coming a long way from Sweden, it might be worth considering the VIP upgrade. You get access to a separate camping area which is right next to the arena, you can get from your tent to the front of the mainstage in less than 10 minutes, and in previous years it has always been undersold, so there's plenty of room to spare, which is very handy if you're turning up a bit after the gates open rush and still want a decent camping spot.

Are there still particular issues here in terms of the main arena being a little too stacked in terms of bodies in the crowd?

The one year I went i actually thought crowd wise it was about spot on vs main arena size and I've seen some places where they just overload it

Look at last year, there was a 2nd announcement of bands being added to the line-up round about nowish, anyone know if and when that is happening this year. Need some more bands adding surely. Cheers

The current posted says “many more to be announced” so almost certainly a good chunk more expected

I think with the final release it is looking quite underwhelming, very little good indie new music, and nothing in that update given we already knew the squid line up. I bought tickets ( 5 for the whole family) due to last year and this does not compare sadly

Really? I'm not sure we're looking at the same poster here. I guess it depends on your definition of new (I'm old, so the Snuts and Royston Club are still "new" to me).

Take a listen to some of the bands below the "logo" line, there's at least a dozen great small indie bands that have only just appeared in the last year or two there.

Agree! There"s plenty of names I've heard of, but not seen live yet. I always discover a few new bands I really like at Y Not. And a lot of the middle section, plus Scissor Sisters, are good fun. It's not ground-breaking, but a very solid weekend.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
