Everytime I see an announcement and think of you 😂

hahaha I try not to be too negative, but it's looking pretty stale at this point! I'm sure the festival itself will be great though so I'm still very excited to go and there are some good acts on so it is what it is. I was definitely hoping for more though!

haha I'm over it. I resigned myself to the lineup being sh*t last month... We're gonna visit the viking museum and explore Roskilde a bit and I'm sure we'll find plenty to do. Very underwhelmed by this lineup though, epxected so much more after first announcement.

What are your clashes that Thursday?

Comparing to Rock Werchter and Opener those festivals definitely have some names I would have liked to see here (Viagra Boys, War on Drugs, etc.), but Roskilde also has a bunch of awesome names that are not at those festivals (Panda Bear, Los Thuthanaka, Lilly Allen, Nourished by Time, etc.). Add to that an extremely diverse set of smaller names from around the world, and I have to say I prefer Roskilde's line up over other festivals in the same week.

Just wondering what they could've realistically booked that would have made this more convincing for you all?

didn't compare to Opener or Werchter, was expecting in general to have more intresting names and more in the rock or heavy side though there are few and I love to explore new things. on Thursday I see Gorillaz and Uncle Acid are clashing and also from 17 to 19 some with Napalm Death, Royel Otis, Little Simz, Ecca Vandle and Ethel Cain. but yes mosth of the June July lineups seems pretty weak for my taste.

was hoping to do both Copenhell and Roskilde and I would probably go if I was local but both not good enough for me to worth the travel

Geese, Alex G, the Prodigy, Florence & the Machine, the XX, the Hives, Empire of the Sun, Just Mustard, Viagra Boys, WOD, Gurriers, Kingfishr, Lambrini Girls, Moby, Mogwai, Pixies, Newdad, Last Dinner Party... There's so much going on in Europe and they managed to stack their lineup predominantly with viral TikTok/pop stuff.

I realise I'm probbaly not the demographic this festival is aiming for. Just expected more but i'll make the most of it. It's taught me a lesson though — from now on I'm going to wait until the lineups are dropped before I commit.

What do you want: Exclusive and different headliners to the other festivals

What did you get: An exclusive and different headliner to other festivals

Everyone: 😪

Amazing booking by Roskilde - I have no clue who she is, but the kids seems hype and for my first glances at Youtube it looks like she actually sings and not playback. If she brings a band - 10/10 (But I doubt it 😅)

Does it make me feel old: Hell yes - I think it is the first time I actually did not even know the headliner.

This years program is good. It does not hit me as well as earlier edition, but it is good. It is not great (That would need Geese, Turnstile, Dijon, Wednesday, The XX,  who chose to tour earlier/later this summer and went to Syd for Solen in Denmark).

Looking forward - Will stay home Friday for a restday. Not enough for me to justify being away from the family a full 4 days in a row.

Some of these would’ve been great (Geese for example) but are simply not available to play a festival in Europe during Roskilde. For most of the others you mention I would rather see them than the pop headliners, but if they were playing those slots instead I’d probably still go see counter programming on smaller stages.

Bar perhaps Geese, who are playin gPrimavera so could've perhaps been booked, they're all available. That's why I mentioned them!

Some of those are playing Syd for Solen, Northside, or Tinderbox, and I believe they have Denmark exclusivity. To me, it seems like Roskilde got the short straw this year, especially Syd for Solen managed to get great names.

ah really? I guess as the country's biggest festival they must've had first dibs.. I think the TikTok/viral pop route is their strategy. Just wish I'd known before I bought a bloody ticket! haha

Well hope y'all like Jennie and Zara Larsson as headliners!

I like Zara but as headliners it's awful. Jennie isn't even the better option from BlackPink lol. A festival that unfortunately has majorly lost it's way which is a shame as its had cracker in times gone by

Agreed, and Jennie can't even sing.

Correct me if I’m wrong but hasn’t it still sold very well? I guess there could be a knock on next year but I don’t they’ll be worried as it’s quite a staple.

I follow all the festivals on instagram and it doesn’t give the impression it’s struggling unlike Mad Cool for instance where I seem to get messages daily about tickets.  Who knows what’s going on behind the scenes though

But yeah… shocker of a lineup for my tastes

Jennie was just added this week as headliner. The fest may have sold well thus far, but there's a big chance of her set not being well-received and attended.

I'm unsure to be honest of her singing but most things related to Blackpink are absolutely pants.

I'm also not sure where we get the fact that sales automatically means a good lineup....I mean Coachella!

The crazy thing I've took from this page is apparently Mad Cool hasn't sold well, random mention, despite having been heavily advertised as low on ticket sales for weeks and weeks. Yet Werchter alternatively can't sell out Thursday, Friday or weekend tickets. Things that suit each others minds in weird ways.

Yeah true.  tickets already purchased so not really much choice now.

As always though, people will go away and have a great time and it’s meant to be a really good festival overall.

  • 3 weeks later...

Does anyone know if there are any pubs really close to the festival site? There's a good chance England will be playing a match while the festival is on, so I'm wondering if there will be anywhere to watch it, assuming the festival isn't showing the games which seems likely given that Denmark failed to qualify.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
