the point was extremely straightforward and I couldn't have made it any clearer. I think it's gone straight over your head though. As for me waffling on, that's seriously ironic as I usually have to read your comments two or three times to make sense of what you're saying! Hahaha

I've no time for bell-ends so I'm not gonna respond to you again.

Great mature response. I never go to festivals, acknowledge I've been two two separate festivals! 🙈🙈

I've to about 9 different weekend festivals alone so youve got no point

Just for everyone wondering how much of the line up has now been announced; the news

post on their website clearly states they have now announced 74 out of ~180 music acts. We’re not even halfway!

https://www.roskilde-festival.dk/en/news/lily-allen-and-24-more-ready-for-rf26

To be fair though, ~40 of the artists still to be announced will be smaller Scandinavian artists playing on the opening days.

back on topic please both thanks

Yup.

Same rubbish every few days it's boring!

Classy people calling others bell**** for negative apparent views while also staying it's not as good as previous. It's absolutely wild! I'll keep with my Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Download, Coachella, Y Not Fest, TITP, V Fest, Back to the 80s and 90s fest that I don't attend anything. Add RIP to that will be 10 different festival weekends by this year. Added to jesus knows how many days events.

hmmm.. this is very meh. I was hoping for some bigger names, in particular the Prodigy, Slowdive and Empire of the Sun. Starting to think maybe I f**ked up with choosing this over Rock Werchter

Roskilde got Clipse though. Very jealous of that, their album was amazing and these guys are legends.

Shaping up to become an amazing lineup by the way. The depth of this lineup rivals Primavera's. Last year's lineup was strong after some weaker years (for my taste) and this year's looking even better. With still more to come (also for the bigger letters, remember Roskilde doesn't announce big names first, small names last like the average festival).

Yeah, I got a little disheartened and carried away by the last drop as I didn't know much of it. But, while I'm not over the moon with what's been announced so far, I'm staying positive.. like you said, there's likely plenty more big acts to come and even if in those additional drops there's not all that much to my taste, there's already some decent stuff and I know this festival is going to be amazing 🙂

With all that said, announcing your bigger artists later on seems like a strange marketing approach to me. If lots of people you're trying to attract are coming from Europe, which they undoubtedly are, then those customers will usually be choosing between your festival and another. So it doesn't make much sense to hold your big names back. Any idea why they choose this approach?

as I understood announcements are timed to coincide with salary payments in Denmark, and they want each announcement to impress with big names while giving space for smaller names to be discovered. I agree it’s not optimal to attract people from all over Europe to come though.

Last year they were one of the few European festivals to have Charli xcx and Africa Express with Damon Albarn and they were only announced in one of the last drops. They were also the only mainstream festival to book NIN and announced them after the rest of their tour (including other festival appearances) was announced. Certainly just those names could have sold a lot more tickets if the announcements had been timed better.

maybe the names for opening days and headliner and more acts on March / April? Robyn has a date in Copenhagen few days after, Florence not available in 3.7. maybe rapper or dance act for headliner but also wonder who else might be added for the rest of the lineup and if there is still some rock spots left

I certainly hope there are plenty more rock acts to come as right now it's very light on that front.

The Cure, Napalm Death, Dying Wish, Ecca Vandal, Maruja, Primitive Man, The Callous Daoboys are a solid start!

Need some more mid tier rock acts; maybe Wolf Alice, The Hives, Biffy Clyro, Mogwai, Architects, Bad Omens, etc

Florence & The Machine, Twenty One Pilots, Halsey & Alexisonfire are about Europe at the time so could be on the list.

Florence playing in Milano on 3.7 so maybe less likely she will be added but won't headline.

both Billy Talent and Alexisonfire has quite short EU run for some reason, will be happy for both.

Wolf Alice and Halsey seem to fit, don't know them much.

Mogwai will be nice.

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats is nice addition and it surely nice to know new acts but overall lineup isn't great for my taste.

will wait for last names in Copenhell and next month in Roskilde but might need to think of other planes though I really wanted to visit Denmark 😢

Yeah it's looking really bad, particularly Friday and Saturday. I should have waited like you did.. I would've gone to Down the Rabbit Hole instead!

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
