I went to Hella mega (and agreed, bargain. I paid more for Green day and NBT in 2024). For context though, the price was set in 2019. I remember they were trying it on then, and VIP was £570...which obviously didn't shift.

 

This is why I like foo fighters, could easily charge more and they don't. The Cure as well, Robert Smith is vocal and wont entertain shady practice.

Hella Mega was definitely an anomaly even in 2019 prices. A mental lineup for the money, we’ll never see the like again unfortunately!

Saw Katy J Pearson was supporting CMAT on her spring tour so really happy she's doing that show.

 

I was sat up on the park hill at Glastonbury and she was playing enjoyed it enough to walk down to the stage.

Or at least if we will, it'll be substantially more expensive.

Not really anything to say other than the fact I'm down at Opeth and this has been a cracking summer by and large here. Few duds, plenty of sellouts, strong weather, and the craft beer is cheaper than the regular bar. Winner winner, chicken dinner!

Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent.
Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself.
- Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia.
- Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on.
- Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂

We got stung by the South Gate shenanigans too. It seems you can just walk round the corner and try East Gate, with no bother. 

 

My coffee was hot at Piece Hall, but terrible at Y Not all weekend - not sure what they are doing, prob some kind of cost-cutting measure.

 

Can also recommend the indian tapas place on the corner between South and East gates - very tasty, reasonably priced food if you prefer not to eat inside the venue.
