Watched a bit of Jorja’s performance at BBC Big Weekend today. She played at 4pm and it was pretty disappointing… Really don’t understand booking her as Saturday’s co-headliner

Quite a few annoying clashes, but also couple that I can't understand as they would, almost certainly, attract the same (or very similar) audience:

Wolf Alice v Lambrini Girls

Sigrid v Rose Gray

Nia Archives v Peggy Gou

Doesn't appear to be a Revolut headliner on the final day either.

Wolf Alice is not clashing with Lambrini Girls

The financial report is out, here’s the AI translation of the telex.hu article.

I’m curious how the number of Sziget visitors compares to the previous year, if we only look at Sziget attendance. Other than that, it looks good that they can start with a clean slate.

The company that organizes, among other things, the Sziget Festival—Sziget Cultural Management Office—closed 2025 with a loss of 2.8 billion forints (~7 million EUR). This is roughly 1 billion forints (~2.5 million EUR) less loss than in the previous year. The company, which returned to the ownership of Károly Gerendai, achieved this with lower revenue; for example, income from ticket sales decreased from 7.4 billion forints (~18.5 million EUR) to 6.7 billion forints (~16.75 million EUR).

In response to our inquiry, Sziget wrote that the revenue of the Sziget Festival increased by more than 1 billion forints (~2.5 million EUR), but this was offset by a larger drop due to the cancellation of Balaton Sound, which is the main reason why the company’s ticket revenue was lower in 2025. They added that Károly Gerendai and his partners returned to the company in October–November, and had already been informed in advance that such a level of loss was expected.

“The agreement with the previous owner was that they would cover last year’s losses, so this did not burden the new owners,” they wrote.

This is also visible in the financial report, as there was an additional capital contribution of nearly 3.5 billion forints (~8.75 million EUR) in 2025, which, according to Sziget, “was paid in by the previous owner in line with the agreement.” As a result, based on the report, Sziget closed 2025 with positive equity of 360 million forints (~0.9 million EUR).

Earlier, Gerendai also announced that the festival’s management acquired a 70% ownership stake in the company behind Sziget, while the remaining 30% is held by subcontractors and partners of the festival (for example, Budapest Park) in small stakes of a few percent each.
