Would I be able to see Self Esteem sub main stage then get to Flaming Lips or will they clash?

Tempted by a Sunday ticket if both (plus St Eteinne earlier in the day) are possible.

The last 2 years they've had the Sunday headliner in the tent start and finish earlier so there's a chance there may be a clash but you will still be able to see a bit of both if this is the case

Plus I suspect they are still yet to announce a special guest on the Obelisk on Saturday, beginning with the letter 'M'.

Interesting, is this just speculation or something you've been told?

It's just speculation, I just have a hunch that Moby might be on Obelisk on the Saturday.

This would save the festival for me.  Surely it would have to be a special guest closing set though, like when Underworld performed after the Stereophonics a few years back.  Couldn't imagine going from Moby to Teddy Swims

I think that would be the better way round, but I suppose we went from Basement Jaxx to Sting last year so I could see it being that way round.

He is touring in Europe next July and the line up is currently lacking in established electronic/dance/DJ acts, which have been hugely popular in recent years. A good shout potentially, let's hope! Otherwise I was thinking maybe Jungle or Royksopp might fill that void?

Not impossible but think he is too big for anything other than headliner,  he's playing old royal Naval College London in August. The wording means it's not impossible (only London gig 2026).

Plays o2 or headlines London day fests recently so can't see where he would fit on the lineup.

You're probably right, I was just thinking he might work as a 'Special Guest' penultimate slot, like Basement Jaxx last year. I thought BJ was as big a Moby back in the day, in the UK at least.

Yeah you are right basement jaxx were massive in the 00's, they headlined glasto when Kylie had to pull out and headlined the other stage as well before that.  Moby headlined glasto in 2003 so they were kinda similar both their stock felt like it fell after that. Moby definitely had more hits overall. Dunno, the wording of his London gig does make it sound like he'll play somewhere else. I think he'd be a really good shout to play some time but I reckon it would be better if it was dark.

He's playing Brighton on the Sunday which is what made me think of him as a possibility for Latitude Saturday night. It says 'only London gig', but I suppose that statement is covered by him playing Brighton.

  • 2 weeks later...

If you sign up to their mailing list they've been doing emails on a Sunday breaking down each day, they should have the last one this Sunday so my bet is next week for the next set of names. It would match in with them announcing names the last week of February the last few years too

Also Anna Calvi is supporting David Byrne on some dates this year so I wouldn't be surprised if she gets added to the Friday

She'd fit the mould. Maybe a guest appearance with Byrne if not solo? Looking forward to seeing what this week brings. Hopefully some strong names announced. Most of what I'm interested in seeing is clashing on Sunday by the look of it.

"a very special guest".

Looks like a sheep to me.

So...Pink Floyd nailed on.

Its just the sheep it seems but whether it means its a hint for another act I have no clue

As Id guessed we should probably get something else in the next week and a half we may find out then

It's Wolf Alice, isn't it?

Id love to see them there but as I've booked to see them at Finsbury Park a few weeks before id probably be a bit miffed too!

The blurb that came with it said "Join the dots to reveal a very special Latitude guest" and the caption says "who is hiding in plain sight?"

As it's a sheep, I was thinking "a wolf in sheep's clothing" = Wolf Alice

I'm possibly overthinking it though 🙂

Yeah it's a strange thing to post if there's no outcome to it - guess we'll find out soon

AI suggested Wolf Alice as well as Ed Sheeran, Foals and The Macabees as acts that could be “hiding in plain sight”. One even suggested U2 (ewe) but that one’s a bit far fetched!

Of those I think maybe Wolf Alice and the Macabees are most likely. I doubt they would advertise Sheeran in advance.

I’m still hoping for the Moby suggestion someone made earlier. While it’s possible, there’s hope!

They've put up a post about it being 5 months to go which they usually like to do before some sort of news, I'd expect something by the end of the week

I'll be interested to see what else is added and especially if there's any special guests. The last few February announcememts haven't been insignificant with the likes of Doves, Mika, Lottery Winners, Frank Turner being announced so we could still get some good names in the mix

There probably will be more Sunrise names too

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
