Sziget are ridiculously quiet today on their socials, especially considering it's the day before a 'big' announcement.

The poor dears must have tired themselves out promoting the EDM names every 10 minutes for the past week.

Can't believe they've promised hints this morning and then delivered none. Useless.

Idk why they keep trying to hype up the electronic artists and that delta district when it’s clearly not going so well. last announcement with Post, Asap and Shawn got 20k+ likes, now they’re barely having 2k on only one post even with all the sponsored posts and set videos

I've gone out of my way to not 'like' anything posted about Delta District as I know the engagement figures will just get reported back to management highlighting "how well the announcement has gone down on socials." And I refuse to be a part of that bollocks (yes, I'm really that petty).

The lack of promo for tomorrow's announcement is a bit worrying though. They're either being crap on socials, or the announcement isn't worth shouting about. Hope it's the former, but fear it's the latter.

I'm certainly getting nervous but we will never know we might be in for a big surprise

This is what i dont get, Delta District posts were EVERYWHERE last week and now its radio silent. To be fair though they were almost equally as quiet with the second drop

As someone who works in marketing:

Before big drops, releases etc there is a tonne of work going into making sure every detail is right. So communication before that can actually decreese.

Now normally, pre-announcement posts are part of the announcement process, and it’s planned well before, but hey it’s Sziget.

I know leas than 5% of the names announced for delta district. Fancy watching Armin and Blessed Madonna but couldn't care less about the rest. Loads of people know who Post Malone and Shawn Mendes are, not sure you can say the same for Upper90 and HotX.

i think that delta district was pushed so much because It was something new, that festival wants tò be perceived as increasing value of the festival. Tomorrow announcement, instead, Just regular stuff they've been doing since day One. Still, they need to fill a lot of medium size spots, so, unless they have One last bigger announcement tò make later in spring, this Will be It imo

They've gone hard to assure people on Instagram that there are no more headliners on their way which, if that's the case, hopefully means they'll have a bit of spare cash to shore up the undercard.

With the strong acts around, tomorrow could be a really great day. However, I fear it won't.

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
