Hoping for stronger names sat / sun. Not only for a Coldplay sized name bus also on the under card too

It almost has to be a female headliner now we know there are two male headliners. As they had Raye last year,  who would've been my guess this year if that hadn't happened you'd assume someone pretty big this time around just due to the lack of mid-sized female acts - it seems its either massive superstar or much smaller with not a huge amount in between. Considering how many they've shared with Glastonbury over the years, Olivia Rodrigo would make sense

That's my guess for female headliner

O Rod doesn't look to be in the country to be honest.

They take coldplay sized names if they can get them, but its far from a given nowadays. I am not sure who my guess is to be honest. Could be Sabrina perhaps - i know she played last year but was the other side of the country and 3rd down

Olivla is free on that weekend

With these things, especially when I have been told by many people in the industry that events like this dont pay or pay very little as they are deemed "marketing" things for labels and to get in the good books of radio being free and being in europe are totally different things.

In my head Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter or Charli XCX makes the most sense as the female headliner as they are all around early June for Primavera Sound. I am more veering towards Chappell than the other two just because the others played in Luton last year.

This also goes to explain why getting an act as big as Coldplay is rarer than it once was. As radio loses its impact when it comes to a songs success in the streaming era, more and more artists/labels don't see the need to play nice and play for free in order to be playlisted. Same goes for like the Capital FM events.

Tate McRae looking like a likely shout for the female headliner? Touring the UK in arenas around the same time, huge streaming numbers and gets played to death by Radio 1 daily

I think we know that Sam Fender is playing Sunday, which is the only date she has free that weekend. Unless they are doing 2 "headliners" a day like they did in 2022 when she can play in the after and then head of to her show later a la Ed Sheeran

Nothing much pointing towards that though based on the current strength of the announcements

Is there anything to suggest Sam Fender is defo playing the Sunday? Sorry if I’ve missed it.

Communication was so confusing this morning but we were told tomorrow (which is the announcements for Saturday) would include a main stage headliner. So definitely seems likely that Sam is Sunday, unless there is a double headliner situation like I mentioned above. 🙂

What is getting announced at 6pm onwards?

Was it new music stage? Or did I completely miss hear

Was this announced on Gregs show? Im currently listening back to post Grennan announcement to check exactly what he says about tomorrows announcement. If it was do you know roughly when he said it and I'll keep an ear out!

It was super confusing . It implied that Lola young & myles smith were also playing Friday which isn’t the case at all.

Towards the end of the whole announcement, I’m sure he said listen to Jack Saunders

I put that Lola Young was playing in here it was really odd...

Im starting to think a lot of the already announced names are Saturday because if they were Sunday we would have hardly anything to announce 😂

He sure did, just heard it. He said "Also, have a listen to Jack Saunders from 6 o clock to hear even more names playing the New Music Stage"

So we go again in about 15 minutes...

For which day though ? The full poster is out for Friday.

this is one of the most complicated line up drops ever

It doesn’t fill me with hope for the sat & sun line ups now. I was expecting big names to be dropped today and I think they will struggle to top Coldplay last year and Ed Sheeran / Harry styles the year before that.

Best case scenario would be an afternoon and evening headliner on both weekend days - but if that’s the case sat & sun will sell out fast and Friday tickets won’t move at all

If that is the case I might just pick up a Friday day ticket, the pot situation this year is AWFUL leaving 10% for people outside of the pots. Booked accommodation so will take anything to be honest

    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
