As we saw with Johnson in the summer we can’t have interim Prime Ministers. If someone steps in they just become the Prime Minister.

As in he’s got his hands on the economic controls and that’s all that matters currently.

apart from ukraine and NI protocol and refugees and fucked NHS and fucked mental health and crime and poverty and all the other fucked up things.

But, in the end doesn't it always come down to it's the economy stupid, which is why chancellor is always the 2nd most powerful person in govt, sometimes maybe the most powerful.

I'm sure it will happen now.

I think it’s pretty important when the LOTO calls for an election, it’ll only just add pressure though.

How does that work ? Surely when truss goes the interim will be coffee ? Unless she stays untill the next one is voted in ? Whoever that might be

if that's correct, than Raaaaab was interim after spaffer.

We don’t have interim PMs, well that was the reason that Johnson stayed on anyway. Any new leader would just be the PM.

he was when Johnson was in hospital with covid wasn't he?

I think Raab just covered various tasks but Johnson was still PM.

Lots of  countries don’t have free healthcare and extreme poverty and other bad things, this isn’t because their politicians are worse than ours it’s because they don’t have the economy to sustain those things.

If no one wants to lend us money anymore there is no NHS it’s that simple. That’s why restoring market confidence is the most important job right now and why decisions around that will over rule all other departments

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
