When I was a student, one of my housemates had a similar Bedford van albeit slightly newer. Every now and again he roller painted it matt green giving it a textured army look finish. Any bodywork rust was dealt with by removing the rusted metal then filling in the void with expanding foam, cutting it back when dry to match the proper bodywork counters and then rollering another coat of matt green over the top. He was very good at it, you would probably never know, but ever since I can't see a Bedford van without wondering.

That purple is rolled on old son.. Have some friends that do VWs up so went and got about 6 cans and made that purple up.. Brilliant... Went over to France to watch the tour de france twice in that one lol

Walked the whole length of the coast line you can see in the picture......... When I was alot younger...
