Bag size advice

Recommended Posts

I’m looking to buy a bag to take all my stuff in. Anyone have advice on how many litres in size I should get?

I wont be taking a tent as we are staying in a tipi. So it will be clothes, wellies, sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping mat, chair, alcohol, some food etc (won’t be taking a stove or anything).

Dont plan on taking a trolly or anything like that as will be arriving by train.

So how big do we think I’ll need? Will 80L be big enough? If anyone has any recommendations then that would be good too! (On the cheaper side!)

thank you

I always that a 75 litre which provides ample space for most of what I need. Sleeping bag, clothes, trainers (wear my boot) inside, torches, batteries, blow up pillow, spirits etc in side pockets, roll mat, air bed, wellies all strapped on outside.

80l will definitely be big enough. I’ve been with a 75l bag on my back (a touring rucksack). I fit everything I needed but I was only carrying spirits to drink, not cans.  Made the walk in really easy. You can buy everything else you might need on site.

Make sure you take some dry sacks just in case.

I packed everything in the picture. With hindsight I probably too a few items took many :)
