Return coaches - how strict on timings?

No guarantees and will probably vary by destination but I had no problem last year coming home on a later coach back to Taunton, and will be trying the same this year. - Never gonna make 6am Monday morning. Of course if we all try that, the early morning coaches will be empty and not enough room on the later ones. Think plenty of people make their own way home so I would risk trying to get on a later coach.

If the absolute worst comes to it and you really can't get on a coach to Taunton, you could get the shuttle to Glastonbury town and there's a local bus from there to Ilminster Rd Busway just outside Taunton, so you wouldn't be completely stranded.

Looking at alternative methods back to Southampton as we got a stinker of a coach time (04:30 y'all).

Get a later coach as they don't check tickets. This would be fine if I knew there were more suitable ones. I know there is a 06:00 one but that's not much better.

Direct NE coach. expensive.

NE coach to Bristol then train or coach from there. Could work as hopefully could jump on any NE Bristol coach if we have a ticket (every 30 mins).

Shuttle bus to Castle Cary then train from there. Again viable option but have heard shuttle buses and trains from there are a free for all and planning anything is very difficult.

Don't care when we leave (8:00 to 16:00) but if anyone has any advice or can share their experiences (best time to get shuttle bus, coach, train etc) it would be greatly appreciated as options are reducing.

There was a 16.00 See Coach back to Southampton last year as i was meant to be on it, but don't know if it is the same this year. I didn't want to hang around all day in a half empty site so  i made sure i was up early and jumped on the 06.00. A bit of a pain, but was back at home in Bournemouth by just after 9.00

Just make sure there is a later bus. Destinations like London etc will have loads but the more further afield destinations may have as little as one or two buses leaving early on.

Thanks both. We have booked bus to Bristol and train from there as it wasn't too expensive but may try to jump on later SEE coach if we notice one.
