I feel like Pablo
hi friends!!!!! this will be my 6th glastonbury coming up (if i get resale tickets - i refuse to accept i am not going, it's simply not happening) and me and my fiancé are planning to get married in may. we are also wanting to (if we do manage to go ahead with our extremely last minute wedding) take our wedding gear to glastonbury and would absolutely love to have photographs taken of us in our wedding clothes with flowers etc and we're wondering if any professional or semi professional photographers are going this year (eek! THIS year) who we're planning to take their equipment anyway who would take photos of us by the sign/in front of pyramid/at the stone circle/insert other cliche place? we would obviously be willing to pay for this and would just love to speak to anybody who would be able to help us. hopefully see you all in june gaia and calum from plymouth x
ian the worm
there are tonnes of freelancers . Take some business cards with your details and do a trade on the day at each location. This avoids finding someone willing to follow you to each location. I feel like Pablo
ah yeh good idea! except does run the risk of not finding somebody at the time we are there, as would need to get to the places early in the morning to avoid all the people etc and could pay a deposit with them before the festival to ensure we will get the photographs we would like. Yoghurt on a Stick
Couldn't you take a fairly decent point and shoot camera and ask passers by to take photos of you? They could take a stack of different photos of you in each location which would increase the likelyhood of you getting a batch of photos that you are happy with. I know that a semi / professional photographer using better equipment would take some stunning photos, but feel that it's a tall order to ask them to distort their own Glastonbury flight path even if money is offered. I guess that you never now though, there may well be somebody out there who is up for this. I guess if you don't ask, you don't get and all that. lofichic
I'm not sure commissioning someone to do a professional job is derailing their own Glastonbury experience! As a freelance musician, picking up a job at Glastonbury would mean getting paid AND getting to go, seems like a double win. The professional photographers I know spend all their time looking through a lens anyway, and I know a friend of mine who specialises in wedding photography and loves Glastonbury would love to shoot a Glastonbury wedding, so there's bound to be interest. Unfortunately, he isn't going this year. While getting random people to take point and shoot photos is nice, it's a very different experience to being photographed professionally. Maybe the best place to look though would be on forums for photographers, or through someone like the Guild of Photographers (photoguild.co.uk)? Good luck with a photographer and on resale day, and please share the pictures!

There are a fair number of very good amateur photographers who use this site. It's still fairly early doors but I don't see them queuing up to take this 'opportunity' to provide their photography skills to this couple. Why not I wonder? I'm not sure but it could be because they don't want their freedom at the festival curtailed. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong and both the couple and a photographer connect and all will be well with the world. 1 hour ago, lofichic said: As a freelance musician, picking up a job at Glastonbury would mean getting paid AND getting to go, seems like a double win. Not sure what the experiences of a freelance musician have got to do with this situation. Even if you meant to write 'photographer' then this couple haven't proposed to pay for the photoraphers ticket to the festival. 1 hour ago, lofichic said: so there's bound to be interest. Hopefully between now and the start of the festival there will be, but I think it's fair to say that it's not got off to a flying start. 1 hour ago, lofichic said: Maybe the best place to look though would be on forums for photographers, or through someone like the Guild of Photographers (photoguild.co.uk)? Good advice. Increasing the size of the net will increase their chances of success. 1 hour ago, lofichic said: Good luck with a photographer and on resale day, and please share the pictures! Same best wishes from me too, and yes, we all would love to see the photos on here.
