I think the locals (we live in shepton) tend to put up with the festival as long as they feel the disruption can be kept to a minimum. This year was particularly bad and the infrastructure creaked for the whole weekend.

That's the problem though,it can happen any year

So a whisper I heard from staff this year is that the Longleat people came to the festival to observe

and they were not happy

They believe that due to the mess, the state of the ground and disruption to the locals that it's not a good idea to hold the festival there.

Could of course be gossip or bollocks, but I doubt this is misplaced information.

Wonder what this means for the future of the festival?

It was Michael Eavis who said it in an interview with the Guardian.

Tripling the amount of coach tickets and planning more infrastructure around that would be the best way to go - staggers arrival times and reduces traffic. I

Wasn't there far more coaches than last year this year? Nothing can help with that level of Mud and things getting slowed down in set up.

Would say this year all but rule out Longleat.

I'm not sure there are three times the number of coaches and drivers  in the country, is the issue with that plan!
