Does anybody know somewhere close by where you can park up on the Monday night in order to get on site early doors Tuesday?

I stopped going by campervan a few years back so the place may now have changed but it perhaps worth giving them a ring. Its a pub with a small camping area that takes motorhomes, basically in its back garden, and charged practically nothing.

Its half way between Castle Cary and Pilton, and if you do stay there, here's a handy tip you might like to think about. In the morning when you get back onto the A371, you can then take Easten Road (second left from memory, but google it) It comes out directly opposite the Pylie Lane entrance to the motorhome fields, cutting out loads of queuing

I've camped here before, it's lovely and really close to Glastonbury high street if you fancy a look around.

Yep I second that....quiet place 5 mins walk from town centre...nice hot showers etc, electric hookups, small shop on site and so on.  Bound to be a few festival goers there beforehand.

Thank you so much for this tip, Sparky. We're staying over in Bruton so From there I now know we just need to turn left at Evercreech. I owe you a pint!

Thanks everyone. Staying in the pub garden seems the most attractive solution. What time do people usually get there on the Tuesday? Last year I was there by 9am and it was already filling up.

We are getting there around 2pm on Tuesday , usually ok, not that far back in non family ... Technically the fields don't open until midday ,and some people have been saying they're going to be stricter on that this year

    • I think they mentioned it in one and interview that the concept of Passport is one thing that differentiates the Sziget from other festival and encourages to explore the site outside music stuff. I doubt they will get rid of it, they might just be late, like they are with everything else.
