An aeropress is a great bit of kit, but what a faff taking along if you're camping!!

last year in our motorhome I had our Moka stove top AND I lugged along my Delonghi bean to cup machine. You can proper spoil yourself when you've got the space!

Are we talking about the same Aeropress?!

One of these?

About as lightweight as you can get for proper coffee camping...

i like your style with the bean to cup machine, note taken for when I get my camper van one day! :D

Yeah, that's what i was thinking.  It was more the faff of all the bits than the weight of it.  And i'm probably saying that as i've still got mine in the semi-disintegrated hexagonal box it came in!

I have a serious caffeine addiction and am needing some advice on anywhere that does a decent cup of coffee? The best one I have so far is at the square crumpet place and it was alright, but I'm looking some real gourmet ****, any advice?

There's one of those Citroen HY vans that usually cost the wax-'tasched-Hoxton-bonnet-wearing-whippet-walking proprietors around £25000 to buy sitting to the right if you've got your back to the beat hotel. They do a half decent cup of Joe for about £3 which comes in a bag thing - a coffee bag. It's all wrong and it blew my mind for about 6 seconds whereupon I resumed whinging about the price of it to the Mrs who couldn't give a monkeys. Remember though it's only *half* decent. Don't come crying to me when it doesn't come close to the real gourmet shit Jimmy serves up.

Hah, fair enough. :)  For me it's the neatest way to make coffee - particularly clean-up, it's a hell of a lot easier than a cafetiere or moka pot.

Camp stove, kettle & aeropress for me - for the 1st coffee of the day at least!

Defo going to look out for some of those suggestions when out & about though...

+1 for the Aeropress for that first cup of the day.  I've used coffee bags in the past camping but they're not the same.

I haven't tended to buy coffee when out and about, although I did have a pretty decent cup from West Holts,  right next to the Goan Curry place.  Nice cup of coffee and kedgeree for breakfast, went down a treat.

    • Not my experience. I've always got the size I paid for.
    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.
