Pennard hill camping..

I've been there since 2013, due to the group I go with more than anything.

It's fine, but I don't think it's worth the rush on Wednesday morning in order to get a spot. Close to SE Corner/Other Stage while being away from major foot traffic are its plus points, but it's also reasonably noisy.

No different from anywhere else on site really, just more cramped and loud, so not great if you are planning on going to sleep before 3am. I spend most of the festival in the Greenfields, so it makes sense, but if I didn't I wouldn't bother.

Well, there are pros and cons... Pennard is a nice place to stay, with a view over the Other stage and Pyramid if you manage to pitch on the upper part of the field. Proximity to the tipis makes you feeling you're definitely in the heart of Glasto. But... it is noisy due to naughty corner which is not so far away, and every morning at sunrise you're awake by shoutings in stone circle. This field is probably the most packed of tents, and sometimes people do not hesitate to unpitch pieces of neighrouring tents to get some room. If you're in the middle of the field, it is quite difficult to reach your tent, the more if it is late at night, and you're tired or drunk.

Personnaly I do not want to get back here. Big Ground is now my field.

I normally go in there, and get in the queue at about 5.00/5.30. Not loads of space by the time we get there though, so if you've got a big group probably best get there early.

As someone who doesn't spend much time at the Pyramid it's pretty ideal, but not one for those who like an early since Arcadia moved in next door.

What time does Pennard actually fully fill up by? Still the best spot I've had for The Stones year but queued from the early hours that year.

It looked packed by 1pm and there is probably no chance of pitching a large tent after 11am, but if you have an explore there's likely to be space if you have a small tent, someone pitched in front of us on Friday morning.

I guess it depends on which stages/areas you'll be visiting the most. I was last in Pennards in 2008 and it's great for the Park, Other and SE Corner. Since 2008 I've been at the top of Big Ground - the lure of the flushing toilets is too great!

I'm thinking of Big Ground this year having spent last two years in Baileys in the west. What time do you need to get in to pitch a 6 man tent plus satelites (biggish spot for 10 of us)? Any insight gratefully received. Cheers

You need to get in really early to pitch in Big Ground (as quickly as Pennard). The field is already filled by noon unless you have a small tent. NOTE: The high voltage line crosses Big-Ground and it is really noisy if you're close to it. If you don't mind the noise and don't fear electromagnetic radiations may be this part of the field fills slower...

How quickly does the park get filled up? Doesn't seem like there'd be a lot of space there if I remember correctly

Pretty quickly as it soaks up most of the overspill from Pennards. However if you head straight there while everyone else goes to Pennards you'll be fine. South Park is a little further back but a lot less crowded.

Big Ground was full full by 11am last couple of years. It's very popular. There were a few teeny tiny spaces by the lavs / path till 1ish, but definitely want to be there as early as poss if you want big or flat spaces.

May have a go at that then, although dairy ground and south park worked well in previous years. Cheers

    • In theory, a person who purchased a ticket can launch a screen recording app, take a short video of the QR code, and then send it to a friend. The friend can then show this video at the entrance as in the Access Ticket app and thus gain entry. However, the ticket is also nominative, so in theory, if associated with a specific name, it could be possible to determine whether the person who used it first has already entered the festival or not.
