Buying Local Tickets

Just wandered if anyone has any info that can help a friend.

We know somebody (who knows somebody) who has local tickets but cannot attend anymore. They have a male and female ticket. Wanted to know if they have photos on them or just the names. Would it be risky trying to use these tickets??

Cheers

If they are village tickets then i believe they just have the name on and address, friends of mine bought some a couple years ago. They had a nightmare getting in as they obviously didnt have the same name as the tickets but they got in eventually.

Cheers for the info,

Most of our group have their tickets and there are a couple who missed out, that would like to go. The tickets belong to parents of someone I know, who live in pilton. I cant get hold of him at the moment to find out what the deal is. I dont want to get there hopes up if it is too risky.

they're always trying to improve the ticket security.

Rumour I'm hearing is that they'll be a change with the campervan tickets next year, as the festival is aware that a lot of them are being touted for profit.

Good. We are lucky the festival are so kind to us without people taking the piss.

They stopped handing out car passes for the Village and green car park for exactly that reason. Now all passes have to be justified.

To my knowledge people in the immediate surrounding area that get freebies are given EPO's allowing them to come & go freely & stay at there own gaff.

People in the outer catchment area apply as normal and receive standard tickets, they just have the ability to buy them outside of the normal sale windows & have to do so by phone. These people are also entitled to Sunday only tickets if they want instead.

If your friends were given EPO bands and didn't pay & have photo tickets then nothing's stopping you give the EPO to someone else. But keep it well under your hat because if GFL found out they'd probably stop there free bands next year.

This is all based on prior knowledge, the goal posts may have moved this year.

As villagers we have a ticket with our photo on it. We go in and get the exact same band as everyone else. We can use the village gate to go out and in every day but we have to show our ticket, band and passout every time we re-enter.

I see, I know a few people that live literally down lanes that car closed off during the festival also land owners who's fields are used for parking. These guys had EPO's last year.

Village tickets come with a ticket transfer voucher that allows the ticket to be used by other people.

I've just heard from my man who I was buying EPOs off that it's not happening this year. There's some form of informal registration involved this year.

Apparently this was decided only 3-4 weeks ago by mendip council just to the way people use them.

I have seen this year's village tickets and they definitely do come with ticket transfer slips.
