Tim Peaks Diner

This is my third (and final question!) of the morning. Sorry for hijacking the forum with 3 quick questions but I'm started to get excited about KC now and as its my first time at this festival, I've got loads of questions to ask.

I understand this is Tim Burgess' little venue but does he always turn up and appear or is it just some years?

What is his involvement? Does he just DJ or has he ever been know to play live? Are his performances listed in the official timings or does he make surprise appearances?

It's just that I'm loving Charlatans' new album (my fave of the year, so far) and would hate to miss any surprises from them.

So many questions, sorry. I promise I'll stop now. Thanks.

Not sure if he performs on his own but he does with others. He has been there every year they've had Tim Peaks but not all day. This should give you an idea of what it's like.

I was stood about 6 feet to the right of Edwyn (as you look at it)...I've never been a fan of Tim but the set they did was great!

You've just got to be there at the right time...check out the daily line up on the outside of the diner each morning.

Was there not a rumour last time James played that Tim booth would appear at some point in the diner. Would like to see that. Apologies if I have just made that up :-)

That would have been great to see. Considering their 90's Manchester music history I'm sure the two Tims must know each other well. If it didn't happen, make sure it does this year!!

yes - he does an impromptu set of some kind each time. You will see a sandwich board type sign outside of the diner - it will say something like special guest today - between 3 and 5 or what ever - then its just a case of being there at the right time. We were sunbathing on the grass and noticed the vibe picking up and sure enough - there was the wee blonde mushroom head doing an intimate little set. thing is - i got the giggles as he was reading his lyrics out as poetry..................took myself outside before i upset wee Timmy.

I remember that story from the other year as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Tim booth did a set with Tim in there. Would be worth seeing but I doubt they'd advertise it, it'll just be one their impromptu performances

Is Tims Diner open on a Thursday? Come to think about it, which venues are open/closed on the Thursday. I'm assuming it's a reduced programme for the quieter day.
