Coach ticket question

Guest

Recommended Posts

I bought a coach ticket for someone else in my family and we want to meet them and camp with them at the site.

i know he receives his ticket half way through the coach journey but was wondering, are there any problems that could occur in terms of camping in the same area for the weekend?

No reason for there to be, Jake.

He will get his ticket on the coach and enter the site like everyone else. As long as you guys can coordinate meeting up before you pitch your tents, you'll be fine.

The only issue could be if you were to pitch up, then go meet him from the coach...by the time you get back there be no space for him to pitch his tent!

What time coach is he on? Wednesday or Thursday? Where are you planning to camp?

hes leaving from reading at 9:00am on wednesday, we will driving down tuesday night and sleeping in the car park to get a good tent pitch wednesday morning. we are sharing a tent so theres no trouble pitch wise. Was just curious if there was a seperate coach ticket camping area as im aware they did a few years back, 2007 maybe i think?

Coach tickets are exactly the same as for all punters. I'm on the coach and will likely camp in Dairy - my choice. I don't there's any issue for you and your pal. Lucky bugger, mind, that he rolls up mid-morning on Wednesday to find his tent pitched and camp made!

To make sure you all camp together you could take his tent with you and pitch all your tents together then meet him when he arrives. We have done this when going as a group and some couldn't come until later on the Wednesday.

Cool man, going to do that sounds like the best way

:D I did this last year. Some mates were going in first thing on Wednesday and we were arriving early afternoon, so they took our tent and pitched it, and we took a couple of their crates instead. Unfortunately don't have that luxury this year so it'll be interesting to see what kind of spot we get.

As others have said, no problem camping together, but I'd just add one little tip. If most of you are getting set up, and then meeting him, don't try and meet him right at the gate. People hanging around just inside the gates get asked to move further into the site to keep the area clear for more arrivals coming through.

Try to think of an easy to find landmark to meet, away from the gate. Maybe a property lockup or toilet block? Last year I was involved with a solo campers group, and we met outside the Beat Hotel, which worked well.

I'm confused Jake as you said in another post that you had "Managed to bag a ticket + coach from bristol, not going to use the coach ticket though. just went for the cheapest coach to garuntee myself a ticket :D good luck guys for sunday." So how can you be driving down if you have booked a coach ticket that you are not going to use? How will you get into the festival? I don't understand...!

Me and a few mates are driving down, the coach ticket i had booked for my brother was departing from Reading not Bristol, sorry for the error was in a hurry when i booked it :) hope that clears everything up. He is getting the coach from Reading as we live in London and that was the cheapest single coach, London return was something mad like £70.

Ah that does make sense. It seemed from the other post that the ticket was for you and it all seemed a bit selfish what you were planning to do. But as you say, if that first message was all done in a rush then fair enough! Have a great time! Make sure to have a read on the threads about staying at Glastonbury with do's and don'ts. They are really useful!

Cheers man, yeah that post seemed to get a lot of stick. i didn't make it clear that it wasn't for 'Myself' but i bought it myself for another person. Well there goes my reputation at -10 and I've only been here for 2 days haha.

cheers for the advice :)

Asked this in the resale thread but didn't get a reply, but how do I find out what time my coach is at?

Use the ticket tracker on seetickets. If its not up yet, it eventually will be.

Cheers. Says "Wednesday 24th June - Various Departures"; do you mean this will eventually change to give me the time?

It should do. My time appeared without warning a month or so ago - only found out to check because somebody posted on here.

Presumably, with the resale now done, they'll be confirming all the times in the next few weeks.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
