Grime

Grime is probably the closest thing to a legitimate youth movement in the British music scene right now. Any chance we could see it getting some larger recognition at Glasto this year?

Can see Skepta coming on stage with Ye and doing one of his own songs...hopefully that's not me but more likely shutdown I think.

Away from that Novelist would be amazing but I'd worry he'd be in the fresh hell that is Silver Hayes. Only problem with grime at glasto is Wiley was so critical of it and given his position in grime might put some other off...hope not.

Tbh when Emily says that it's exciting that Ye is headlining because he represents diversity or w/e it'd be nicer to see british black music better represented and grime is probably the biggest truly british movement in music atm.

You might get some on in the day on sonic.

When the dance village had the east and west dance tents they used to have pretty much one day dedicated to grime/rap/hip hop in the east dance tent. But that doesn't seem to happen these days. But I expect to see a few appear with Kanye maybe doing their own sets on Kanye's day.

JME mentioned on twitter that there was a couple more festival appearances that are yet to be announced, sounds like glasto to me! The vibe that the grime scene is giving off lately is that the artists believe something special is happening in grime. Stormzy who is/was unsigned got know me from into the charts, kanye had a lot of artists with him at the brits. Long may this resurgence continue! Would love to see a great grime set at glasto.
