Did anyone go and see them? I fully intended to go but then completely lost track of the festival and missed them. How was it? I guess it's one of those performances that wasn't filmed at all?

I had every intention of going to see them until Rik died. After that I feared it might be a bit like grief tourism. I'm glad it was good and hopefully they'll be there next year and I'll finally get to see them as long as I get a ticket of course!

Good glad he got the right sort of crowd. Just had in my head there'd be loads of people who'd never heard the songs before just there to see if he'd cry or something and didn't want to feel party to that. Also, If I had gone I'd have wanted to stay for Beth Orton and would have missed John Grant who was my highlight of the weekend. Having seen Beth on Wednesday at Manchester Cathedral Pass In Time so soon after a mention of Rik Mayall's funeral may have been more than I could handle anyway.

i went along and was pleasantly surprised. I love my punk and it was great to hear the old songs re arranged in such an imaginative manner without being overly serious.I Thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to watch them again at Beautiful Days.

Was really looking forward to seeing them again after their last appearance at Glastonbury in 2010 and they were brilliant, including 3 Clash songs - bonus! In fact I was enjoying them so much I decided to stay til the end instead of leaving early to see the whole of the Manics set. I found out later that I'd missed Motorcycle Emptiness as a result, which I'm a bit gutted about but it was worth it.

Didn't see them at the festival but saw them Friday night at the Garforth Arts Festival near Leeds. They were great and suited a small venue. 'Rise' was particularly good. Ade mentioned Rik once. Poignant but didn't dwell on it.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
