Something wrong with Amazon? Tax dodging aside, that is?

well tax dodging is quite a biggie

Morning all,

Amazon, hmm, tax dodging, unfair conditions for workforce, over use of packaging...

Don't start me on over packaging!

PS Hope you all use the links from efests to go to Amazon.

Just don't like using Amazon - it feels like Tescos - taking over the high street, putting local business out of business. But sometimes needs must and I would go through efests .

Morning all,

Ouch hand really swollen. No more DIY for a bit.

Dee so impressed by you starting Christmas shopping already, which I was so organised think I will make it my New Years resolution for 2015.

It's really grey and damp today big change from yesterday.

Actually just got back from a walk on the farm - It was really warm but just had a "dull" look to the day.

Still got back with dry feet - so every cloud

Will and the People came on the Ipod around Birmingham on the way home yesterday - cheered me up and got us home.

Hence needing to share to cheer up this dull grey day.

Morning!

Nice day here today, bit damp but nice and autumny. We have a little mushroom village by our house that pops up every year, it has been here a couple of days now and is past its best. They are ink caps, I think this is a pic:

I expect you've seen some, Matt?

I like to think it is a little fairy village :) Although the Cat seems to have Catzilla'd them a bit this morning...

Morning folks, sniffling this morning. Don't know where I picked this annoying cold up. The last day of staycation is indoors, staying warm, eating chocolate buns, ordering apple trees and reading papers. No commiserations needed as we'll hopefully get off in the van this weekend too.

Everyone else ok?

Looking ahead, anyone used those inflatable back rests like on the eFest shop? I'm looking for a low seat tyoe thing that's supportive yet light, without being as heavy as a chair. Ta for any thoughts.

We is good ta - glad you are enjoying your staycation. We do the same sometimes and love every second of it - especially the not answering the phone part

We use black plastic bags to sit on - have tried those little seat things and my back hates them.

"What Is A Friend? A friend is someone always there in the back of your mind, providing feelings of comfort and security. A friend is someone who adds happy sparkle to your life, joy, fun, a predictable creator of happiness. A friend is a stormproof shelter from life’s challenges, troubles, uncertainties, an unassailable bond overcoming any challenge, strengthening the connection in the process."

I too am a fan of the humble bin bag. It's my top tip for festivals as it has so many uses! I never carry a chair around with me, we all have one at camp for a nice sit down, but it's bin bags for out and about.

    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
