Motorhome Hire

Motorhome prices go through the roof in Glastonbury Week - one of the reasons why people suggest buying your own.

We rented one a few years ago but decided it was over-rated. Instead got into caravans. Bought my first one for about the same as you pay for a week's Glasto Motorhome hire.

I've still got my old trailer tent for sale if anyone's interested. Stored nice and dry in mother in law's garage in Cardiff. Sleeps four (or more in huge awning) full cooking and lighting and lots of extras. £1,000 ono.

P.M. me if interested.

If I was you start looking ASAP for the motor home as most places will have been booked up already!!! Also as others have said companies tend to charge a lot more for Glastonbury so if a deal is really too cheap be wary. There was a company on here a couple of years so called sun drive leisure or something similar (if others can help with name please) that turned out to be a scam!!

yeah, it was Sundrive. The thread is still on these forums i think.

Whether they were deliberately fraudulent or not I don't know. It might have been that they were merely shit at trying to operate as a 'broker'.

For anyone hiring, you need to be wary of brokers - as they'll be renting you a van that they don't have and don't have control over. They rent campervans off private individuals, and then rent those vans to people like you.

That doesn't mean that all brokers should be avoided - I'm sure some are very good at doing it - but there is by-nature less surety about your rental than if you're renting from a company that owns their own vehicles.

Sorry, I can't remember any websites I saw plastered on rented CVs last year, to give you as possible agents. Can anyone else remember any? (Sorry if this is promoting anyone specific, it's not meant to, as I've got a CV and am not involved in any rental companies)

Next year is our first Glasto, we usually attend V and have rented a camper van for the last 6 years and have always paid around £800 for the week in August, for Glasto next year the guy said he would do us a deal as we're regulars for £1400!! we then decided we would purchase a caravan next year to go and then do a few festivals. (we bought our caravan yesterday and it's now eagerly awaiting new year to roll on). We usually rent from pronto.
