The number of people who used to attend in the 1970s and 1980s but now don't because of ideological opposition to the idea of fences and registering for tickets is probably dwarved by the numbers who no longer go because they're knocking on a bit and can't be arsed camping out for 5 days to see music that they're no longer interested in.

Are you so arrogant to not concede that others may think differently to you?

For what it's worth, I agree with you that from my point of view it would be giving up a ticket for no apparent reason. However, I am willing to accept that other people don't see it as no apparent reason, and it's their prerogative to have those reasons.

I don't think it's arrogance, like I said I would be fascinated to hear from one of these people so I can listen to their reasons. I'd be even more fascinated to hear a logical one.

Na, you're just building a strawman now, anything to avoid answering my questions.

I suspect you're right and they don't post here, which is why I asked you about the ones you know.

Already answered, twice.

Good lord, are you broken?

I can fully understand someone not wanting to be on a database (although that's a pretty tough ambition nowadays). I can't understand someone not wanting to be specifically on the Glastonbury database if they already have a driving licence, credit card, passport, amazon account etc etc.

How many people do you know like this?

why are you getting so angry?

These people exist. I'm not surprised your paths never cross though. They no longer attend glastonbury, and I'm guessing they arent involved in your line of work:

"privacy of peoples data is a big part of my day job"

Which sounds fascinating by the way.

I managed to speak to a few of the old guard up at the healing fields this year - cracking experience by the way, I'd recommend going up there and sitting under a teepee with a few. Proper hippies - not weekend revolutionaries or armchair socialists.

They were indeed surprised at my having to register online to attend, but not disgusted. They had no idea you had to do it though - by running stalls every year they were given their tickets free of charge and comfortably expected to keep doing so each year.

Do you want to know what I really think is going on?

You have absoutely no idea about these people either, you've never met nor heard of one, just like me.

You saw MrTourettes post on page 1 and decided you'd be elitist about it. You jumped on your high horse and then once you got up there you realised you don't actually understand the subject you were meant to be arguing about. You tried to disguise this troublesome factoid by ignoring questions and responding with "read the thread", and now here we are, on the 11th page, and your argument still doesn't make sense, because you don't understand it either, so you resort to immature insults about my job instead.

My work here is done.

Oh, PS, MrTourette was right, the guy the OP was talkijng about should have pulled his finger out.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
