Not long to the festival now and unfortunately im a 27 year old that has got a bit out of touch with music and don't really have time to look into all the bands playing.

The bands I am definitely seeing are:

Friday

Green day

Deftones

Frank Turner

New found Glory

Skindred

Saturday

White lies

Twin atlantic

Sunday

Biffy Clyro

Nine inch nails

Fall out boy

Editors

Id be very appreciative if you could give me some suggestions of bands I can watch around these and why I would like them! Thanks

System of a Down because it will be fucking incredibly mental.

Foals are supposedly a very good live band on the saturday. Only heard good things about their live performances.

Tomahawk as a saturday headliner based upon some of the bands you are already planning on seeing.

And So I Watch You From Afar - i haven't seen them but all their live performances look stunning and again, i have only heard good things.

And Drenge - because they are such good fun!

FIDLAR (US surf garage punk rock) and ASIWYFA (instrumental alt rock) definitely, although it looks they they may clach with what you already have planned. Since you seem a bit lacking on the Saturday I'd recommend Savages and British Sea Power in the FR to close the night.

I'll ditto FIDLAR, Drenge, Foals and And So I Watch You From Afar.

On the Sat, Modestep will be really good I think, if EarlWolf hadn't been announced I'd probably be at Modestep, but EarlWolf probably isn't a good idea unless you're really into the songs, especially if they have dodgy bass again.

If not SOAD on the Friday, then check out Fenech-Soler.

On the Sunday try Wavves and Tribes

Reading right? If so:

Friday: The Computers, Findlay, Bastille are all decent

Saturday: The 1975 (they've grown on me) and Palma Violets are two of my favourites, while Johnny Marr may play some Smiths stuff

Sunday: San Cisco and China Rats are decent FR bands. Tribes are a must see in my opinion (great newish album), Mikill Pane is good fun, Spector if you're not at NIN

Well it looks like a lot of people are saying Foals so will have to do some research.

Havent seen System of a down for ten years so they look a cert too.

Whoever said Bastille - no thanks lol.

Also I remember reading somewhere that Alkaline Trio will not clash with Green day, how is this possible?

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
