Went out for a rather expensive meal last night. Service was great until they forgot about us after dessert - no offer of coffee. Got our bill, they asked if we wanted a taxi. As our hotel wasn't too far away I asked if it was raining, thinking I was happy to walk if it were dry. Waiter said no it wasn't. Stepped out and it was pissing it down. Got drenched on the walk back.

It was my birthday too :(

Still, NFRNFC

Morning all, no rain today. Lots of frost and congestion though. Anyone know whether Somerset is parched now that Chris Smith has visited?

Happy Belated Birthday, Genie! Good sacrifice too :)

No wet stuff here today either, as yet.

'im indoors has started saying things like "I don't want to go to Glastonbury if its still flooded". What a wally. These non believers need to be shown a thing or two.

It was the BT man! I didn't flirt with him, he was flirting with me- and very badly! 'im indoors and I do not have what you may call a "normal" relationship... even so, being made to feel uncomfortable in my own home by the bt man is not something I wish to repeat!

Anyhoo, I am trying to convince him our efforts will make a sunny festival happen :)

    • On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing.  The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on.
    • Hoping the day splits will be included with whatever the secret is.
    • They will search bags going from the campsite into the festival site. How thoroughly they do that varies greatly from one security person to the next. If they find any cans they probably won't confiscate them, but more likely they'll offer you the option of drinking them there and then or taking them back to the campsite
