Good day! Bit damp here over the weekend, and for my part of the sacrifice, myself and my man friend went to Kew Gardens on Saturday. Started off nice, then got a bit wet, then cleared up again. The wet bit happened when I was attempting the Treetop walkway, which is a structure made of (what seems like) flimsy metal and chicken wire that is 18 metres high! I'm terrified of heights but gave it a go. I made it to the top of the stairs but had to stay there clinging on for dear life, while the rain rained and the walkway swayed in the wind. Brown trousers and cycle clips time!

He went round it, and then escorted me down the stairs. It was horrible.

An hour or so later, and not to be defeated by said flimsy metal structure, it had cleared up and the sun was shining so I gave it another go. This time, I made it all the way around, clinging on tio the side and firmly gripping the mans hand. I was doing that crying/laughing thing, and I'm pretty sure I scared some small children. I've no idea what the view was like, as I could only stare straight ahead of me!

I'm very proud of myself for doing it, and I'm quite sure my battering at 18 metres by the rain on my first attempt pleased the Weather Gods a little.

Stormy here last night too. My Cat also not a fan!! Her and me stood at the back door watching the rain in the woods outside. She kept going to hide behind me!

We're just getting it all out of the ay now, Whisty :)

Didn't see a pylon get hit, but in 2009 I did see some great lightning as I walked back to camp from watching East 17 on the Thursday night. First time I'd seen proper lightning like that, on the horizon it was, bloody lovely.
