Reported fees for headliners are usually bullshit. I highly doubt they wanted their fees doubling to be shown on TV. It was reported that Eminem got £6m to play R&L last year ffs.

With money like that I wonder of he got a share of merchandise being sold that weekend aswell. I think 6m is too high, I would have thought he would get less

either way it'd be mental if V suddenly had two massive headliners in one year, let's move on

Would be good though, maybe a way of having a Russell Re-Brand and trying to save their reputation as a big festival.

Id like to see V either go to a 3 day event or at least try do what I has done and try for a later license till early morning

And Coldplay have been mentioned by a few of us on here. I think if V pulled a big unexpected name out they could have better ticket sales than last year and sell out faster. Jay-Z wouldnt surprise most of us in here, but i would be surprised by coldplay or muse as neither are expected to make a UK appearance. Gaga would be good to see half the set of, but I dont think I would stay for the whole thing

gaga is rumoured equally strongly as hova on efests unless i've missed something

Luckysalt said it's Jay-Z, and he's got all of the R&L headliners right so far. With Blink being such an unexpected booking, it's highly unlikely it was a lucky guess or anything.

If it isn't Jay-Z I guess it'll be Kasabian.

Fair play, what does he say the last R&L headliner is?

I suggested kasabian at one point but apparently with them doing glasto they wont do another UK fest this year, someone kept saying

yep you're going mad, we're discussing eminem

two £1m headliners in one year? no chance :(

Wireless had him and Jay Z, so they are 2 1m headliners. Same owners could mean same bookers, so they will pay out more maybe

I'm pretty sure they're suggesting JT and Jay-z are both "1m headliners" actually

Seeing as they're not doing T, R&L or IOW, I can see Kasabian at V, unless they've hit a new level of snobbery where they believe they're only good enough to headline Glasto

Nah to be fair, with Glastonbury and their own outdoor gigs, it'd probably best for them not to do V. And the less people subjected to their shite the better.

Ignore

Well we do try to do our best to ignore you but you keep popping up

Yes I know, but as they said 1 pricetag I said 2million for them both, meaning they both got 1million making them 1m headliners

I can see the level of snobbery already at that height even if they dont do V, unless they charge 1m then we cant have them because we cant have 2 1m headliners

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
    • Beartooth? Or are they a bit to shouty shouty
