Biffy were great at V Fest when I saw them!

Name 4 main stage headliners you would like Daniel...

I don't think the question was exclusive to acts that have headlined a stage at V. Just any act ever.

And mine would be Kanye, Bowie, Nine Inch Nails and Biffy. After Leeds I'll have experienced 3 of those, unfortunately the last is likely to never happen :(

If it was limited to acts that have headlined at V, probably Scissor Sisters, Arctics, Beyonce and Oasis, despite Arctics being a bit bland live, and Liam Gallagher sound like toss.

The original question was headlined, hence i chose acts that headlined that headlined V as I havnt researched other festivals much, apart from bits of T, R&L, Glasto and Oxegen

Ok, just you seem to discard acts you haven't heard of or whether they are in the chart or not.

Biffy are a great band!

If you've never heard of a band, how would you know they have existed. You must hear of them to actively go see them. i only want to see Beyonce because of the hype, I arent a huge fan of her songs really. They are good but there are others I like more. I have listened to other bands and acts such as NiN and Biffy, but arent a fan because they arent sounds I would like to listen to. I saw passenger twice before he was any where near the charts, yeah it was after the band but his newer album is better than the others IMO

I think people are just shocked at how your music tastes are very narrow and limitied for an 18 year old dan.

Your just a chart fan, nothing wrong on that though you just need a music education.

Mine would be bjork, radiohead, the cure and pulp...Case closed.

My knowledge of certain acts isnt limited. Compared to the average person I wouldnt say its too limted but on here it is. Its my taste in acts that is being criticized. One of the first acts I ever got the CD of was Avril Lavigne, which her first album was very different to her newest/upcoming one. Ive been a fan of hers since her starting album when she wasnt in the charts. If we compare this to food, if you dont like something you wont like it, no matter how much you are exposed to it. I dont like older music or heavier guitar music and I dont think I ever will. I like certain songs by The Who and REM and U2's older stuff from my dads music collection in his car, but not many. im a chart fan because thats what is most appealing, and judging by the fact charts are based on sales and how many people like the certain song, it seems im in the majority of the population but the minority on here

never understood what people enjoy about Pulp myself, always thought they were incredibly overrated along with oasis, blur and the roses

I think they're trying to say your music taste is limited, as in you only enjoy mostly bands that have chart success, so mostly extremely poppy bands. It's not a hugely bad thing that that's all you enjoy, because it could be worse, you could like 5ive ;)

I wouldnt even take my worst enemy to see 5ive...no one is that bad ;)

I do like poppy bands and dance music, im getting more into EDM and I dont think thats really a bad thing

TBH Avril's debut album was fucking fantastic :P

Yeah I still like her second album better, although my fave song is from the third album, and its Keep Holding On

You seem to think hes the best thing since sliced bread :P Its always DJ Fresh and Steve Angello are amazing with you :P

OK Well done on him for the handicapped part, but it doesn't mean everything he does is the best thing ever? I mean One Direction made millions of pounds for Comic Relief but they get slated a lot still? (as much as I love them)

Just cos you do something like that, doesn't mean you have to love their music?

Do i mention DJ Fresh much? When did I mention him before :S I cant remember. Steve Angello I just think is an actual DJ more than V usually get ie Calvin or Guetta, more producers while still good DJ's or whatever

I dont love all of DJ Fresh's music, dont know where this has all come from really. A few good songs on the album but not all hits

The sad thing is, i think youre serious

Thats a very complex issue your starting there, far to complex for a v forum.

With his fundraising he saved alot more peoples lives than he destroyed....like I said far to complex for the v forum.

Yeah! Thank god we got past that era of over rated bands that couldn't pen a tune for love nor money.....

I agree, I can see both sides, but I think commending anyone for anything after doing something as disgusting as him is wrong- thats all I'm going to add :)

Its really just balancing the lesser of two evils. He saved lives but also destroyed lives so yeah, complex

    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
