ZackRyder
Would it not be easier to attempt to book next years festival? A lot less restrictions haha. I might give that one a try.
ZackRyder
So here's my attempt. Unrealistically, there is no repeats from this year and very few repeats at all. Think it would sell very well, without being completely crazy. Saturday Main Stage Daft Punk Rihanna Vampire Weekend Kaiser Cheifs Ed Sheeran Lana Del Ray Frank Turner Passion Pit 2nd Stage Queens of the Stone Ages The Wombats Editors Wiley Chvrches Taylor Swift Haim The 1975 AlunaGeorge Amy McDonald Arena Stage Bombay Bicycle Club Frank Ocean Jamie T The Temper Trap Erasure Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Laura Marling Gotye Passenger Kate Nash Futures Stage Charlie XCX Sunday Main Stage David Bowie Florence + the Machine Alt-J Foals Keane Ben Howard Taio Cruz The Drums 2nd Stage Fall Out Boy The Kooks Bastille Bruno Mars Peace Professor Green The Lumineers Marina & the Diamonds Owl City Lawson KT Tunstall Arena Stage Deadmau5 Disclosure Frightened Rabbit Imagine Dragons Bat for Lashes The Wanted Robyn James Blake Miike Snow Childish Gambino Futures Stage Will Young What do you think? DarthSaul
As you said, its very unrealistic, not just in the acts themselves (bowie, daft punk) but the positions like bombay bicycle club headlining arena - they would pack that out.. but you did say unrealistically so my comments pretty invalid Also imagine the clashes! Daft punk/qotsa/bbc - ouchhh!
ZackRyder
Hmmm, yeah it was more of a kind of ultimate line up, that they could have at the moment kind of thing, rather than this is my predictions for next year! Are Bombay Bicycle Club any bigger now than Chase and Status were a few years ago though? And yes some nasty clashes, but mainly because I enjoy most genres of music, tried to get different kinds of artists against each other. It was fun to write it up anyway! ZackRyder
And I've seen much worse line up attempts than mine! Haha.
rawaudioinput
What I'd do is book several more guitar acts (not because I like them, although it is a plus) taking a share of Reading's demographic who aren't particularly happy with this year's line up however still keeping pop punters happy by booking big pop and electronic acts. Another difference would be to focus on more forward-thinking up-and-coming acts to not just stop V's line up from looking stale but also giving the line up a sense of style. Boris The Spider
In an ideal world they would just turn the second stage into indie/rock and have all the pop on the main stage. Then their wouldn't be too many clashes.
daniel.k
Some good suggestions while I was in bed, and some less realistic clashes In an ideal world they would just turn the second stage into indie/rock and have all the pop on the main stage. daniel.k
You think imagine dragons could sub arena after a couple of songs compared to Florence the other day? Different but could happen with V

HOLYFIRE
They play before plenty of other bands at other festivals so I don't see why not. I would add a few more acts but it's just for fun and I don't have time haha.

daniel.k
Dont think Faithless would be back anyway, let alone headline arena but anything could happen. I think steve angello would still go well instead Im working on seeing abit of his set
