was listening to this album on the way in today, I reckon they will definitely be one of the highlights of the weekend.

They will be on around 2pm at jazz world or so right? looking at the poster anyway...

If you havent got their album yet GET IT IMMEDIATELY.

I was a bit disappointed with the album. The youtube track that someone put up on here is by far the best on the album. Having said that it's still a lot better than a lot of other newer stuff.

As well as playing on West Holts they'll also be playing in Shangri-la one night with their light show in full effect, and so I've heard that makes their show stunning.

you think they will clash? Alt-J seem to be high up on the other stage, and goat low down on jazz so I cant see a clash there, unless more recent info has come out?

Im not fussed by alt-j anyway. They'd be better suited to JP tent or Park I reckon (though I suppose they will pull a big crowd)

It's the best sort of album - one that emerges without any hype or fanfare but with an aura of mystery that burns slowly over time; getting better with each listen and as more and more people discover their arcane technicolour world.

I'm going to strive for the late night option. It just seems right.

Their show at the Lexington last year was by far the best live gig I saw in 2012 (and I watch a lot of bands). Amazing costumes, incense, great psychedelic lights show and pulled off with a deep hypnotic intensity. So often London audiences are too cool for school but this had people writhing on the floor. Intense and hugely fun.

So glad they're playing twice! Goat and Tame Impala, my only two absolute must-see-without-fails. If they clash, Tame Impala in the sun followed by psychedelic late-night Goat show. If they don't, Tame Impala and Goat twice in one day! Beautiful.

NEW MUSIC FROM GOAT!

BEHOLD THE STONEGOAT!

http://earlytuesdaymorningblues.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/goat-stonegoat.html

Just two songs and all of five minutes of music, but Christ, this is so good.

Stonegoat sounds like a 70s cop show theme in which the afros have been replaced by antlers, the muscle cars by horned gods, the club scenes by ecstatic invocations to the volcano gods.

Dreambuilding is a lot more laid-back, and I wish it were at least six times its length. It somehow condenses all the crazy rhythms and esoteric poetry of Close To The Edge-era Yes into just 2:44 of tight sundrenched desert grooves.

Are any bands as exciting as Goat right now?

Shame that the Shangri-La set starts at 12am, no chance of getting from the Stones to there in that time so I think I'll have to settle for the West Holts set in the sun :) Will hopefully catch Hypnotic Brass Ensemble on the Saturday night though which is always good!

A Danish guy I met at Primavera was telling me that one of the members in Goat is apparently one of The Knife's members, no idea if it's true, but I wouldn't rule it out!

Very excited to see them play at Glastonbury.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
