Notice that you can opt to stay on and do your shifts afterwards - anyone tried that? Are you still able to camp or is that more for local people

Yeah, you can still camp. It's very relaxed and comparatively spacey in Tom's Field afterwards. The site is really eerie afterwards tho! A bit like 28 Days Later - very apocalyptic. BUT You can get on the Pyramid Stage and get your photo took. lol.

I enjoyed working after the fest in 2011. The only downside is that you've got to pack shitloads of stuff. You'll be there for over 2 weeks, potentially.

Out of curiosity does would someone be so kind as to mark red gate on the 2011 map as I cannot see it anywhere.

Hi there. If memory is right red gate is if you're coming by bus or train and is basically gate A. Blue gate is if you come by car and is basically gate b or c I think (the one that comes in just above family camping)

I think the paid work that's advertised at the festival is this. There is an option on the recycling team to opt to do your 4 shifts after the festival- so you'd be done by the Friday

Yeah, you'd be in the Recycling Centre (and doing a bit of litter picking towards the end as well, probably). The paid litter picking work seems to be aimed at people who actually live in the area and it's more thorough than the sort of litter picking you'd do as a volunteer.

Chances are I will be getting a lift down with some people who are not working and park in the west car parks. Seeing as blue is the other side I figured red would be better.
