what are the team leaders like? I've heard some dreadful things about them, are they on your case a lot? Or is it quite a chilled working environment so long as you dont take the piss?

Oh, and for anyone who is volunteering for the 1st time, when you get to the site, DON'T queue up with everyone else to get in. If you ask a steward where to go they may very well tell you to get in the queue, but DON'T. They are busy and clueless, so they just want to get rid of you so you become someone else's problem. You have to pick up your ticket and ID from a little booth, then you enter through a special staff entrance. No waiting around for us, baby :-)

You might be able to, but i'm just saying Weds is the day you've got to be there to register (I think). But all the info will be given out in good time.

You can be there on the Thursday too if your shifts start on the Friday- that's when I've got there the last couple of times. So long as you're there for the briefing which if I remember correctly is at 7pm

The 1st year I did it 2005 we were quite late on in applying so didn't get our 1st choice- think we ended up with maybe our 4th or 5th choice.

In 2010 got my 1st choice (Jazz/West Holts AM shift) and requested that again in 2011 and got it

As you've been a few times can I ask you - and I only ask because I've got an alternate half chance that I don't want to miss out on - if you have that first email with the sign on code, does that mean that you've definitely, definately, got a place. This secondary process, where you wait to give them your cash seems to be taking an age, and as a litter picking virgin, its giving me kittens

As far as I'm aware it means you're in (obviously providing you send the cash when that stage occurs).
