i leave for the UK on the 18th. wringing my hands about what to pack, clothing wise. would prefer to travel light, but the weather seems to be a bit mercurial and I may have to come prepared for it all. have made two piles of clothes - blistering hot and 17C.

2007 was definitely worst experience with mud and constant rain from Thursday night onwards 2016 - thickest mud so hard to get around - although not much rain over the weekend 2007 - more types of mud consistency than I had ever seen before from liquid to thick clay. ( 2008 not much better as it rained a lot too!) 2005 wasn’t that bad in our camping area but parts of the site were grim after the flood. It did dry up by Sunday though. 2007 photos

I was making the point that income taxes are ok upto a certain level but the people you class as rich live on returns from assets not just income. These people pay lower rates of tax and should pay more. Only 10% of earners pay high rate tax. There is no reason why NI should be a lower rate for these people. And also no reason why pensions and pensioner earnings shouldn't pay some NI Net migration is 600K and London is doing ok so plenty of people still want to be here.
