Optimus Alive 2013 is looking likely for me then. I had such an amazing time this year & I've been wanting to see Depeche Mode for a while.

same .... although hopefully the flights wont jump in price so quickly like last year.... off to America soon so wont be able to afford for while (unless i make money in Vegas HA)

but the fest was amazing

Depeche Mode seem like a good headliner, thought that last years line up was a real mixed draw. Still a great festival which I loved last year.

The fact that they're now ruled out of Bestival & I can't make the arena date in May has lead me to conclude that I shall most definitely be returning to Optimus next year

Tickets on sale now, just under £100 for the whole weekend with and extra £13 for the camping. £50 for a day ticket.

hmmm Radiohead early ... then it was Stone Roses, Justice and Florence around december i think ... then Cure in March?

i remember we all thought Florence were the headliners .... with a small chance that they werent

BBK Live festival, in Bilbao Spain used to share a couple of headliners, they already have Depeche, and I hear rumours about Neil Young & Crazy Horse to BBK or Green Day.

I hope this guys wont pick GD, I Really hate them.

Can see Muse headlining, big band who haven't played the festival before and haven't got any dates in Portugal on their current European tour.

Optimus is near impossible to predict though, some of the placings over the years have been weird

I thought that as soon as I'd posted, but I hope it's not Muse, I find them terribly boring (or at least their new stuff is.) Prodigy is another band I could see doing it, as they'll no doubt be touring a lot over the summer.

So my summer of 2013 is going to be awesome. I am planning on Glastonbury and Roskilde Festivals for sure. Thinking about adding one other festival pending on the lineup. Its between Oxegen and Optimus Alive. Flights from Copenhagen to Dublin and Dublin to back home are cheap (relative to other cities) but I suspect Optimus Alive's lineup might differentiate itself. Any thoughts?

I absolutely loved everything about this festival this summer. I'm going to be a bit skint with Glastonbury and whatnot, but if there's a few really good names, I think I'm gonna head back.

Personally they do very little for me. Though I don't think they were as bad at Leeds 2009 as some people professed. Either way them getting announced means I may be able to tempt a few more of my friends (who don't have the best taste in music) to come with me now.

Well, we'll see what else they go on to announce - saw KoL on their first ever tour of the UK - up close and personal, you could say , when they played Youth and Young Manhood 2 1/2 times over cause they had no other material - very entertaining - reminded me of that scene in The Blues Brothers where they play that Country and Western club - he he I hear that their performances can be very hit and miss these days, though

Kings of Leon are alright, I loved their first three albums, not much of a fan of the other stuff. Subsequently my mother developed a love for their poor, radio friendly albums (like most mothers did) and now she's in love with them. I've had to take her to their last few tours. They always seem to tour around her birthday (July) so they cost me a pissing fortune.

Anyone know if the ticket prices that are up now are early bird or if they stay at that price? And if and/or when did it sell out last year?
