Whats everyone hopes that they throw into their setlist?

Obviously the last album the setlist was the same for like 3 years solid and it sucked, they didn't change it around at all, and people who saw them in this period, you're weren't getting them on form, it was like a computer programme being loaded to the audience same every night.

I actually thought their performance at Download 2009 was pretty average, I think the best I saw them was during 2005's greatest hits tour, at V that year and on their own shows they owned. And at TITP and V in 2008 they were good but just ok, 2009 on tour prior to Download I thought they were very good, but Download was the start of going through the motions.

Now they've had a break from touring flat out and festivals and been working on some new material, this headline show at Download is a big deal, their last headline show on main stage at a rock festival was Reading 2002, I was there, it was a mess. This was during Baby's Got A Temper, a song they hate and an album they scrapped.

I hope they're refreshed and break out some classics, they've left the classics out for a long time and I think the audience they're gunna get at Download a lot of people will want the classics, stuff from Music For The Jilted Generation would go down a treat, Im not expected Experience stuff, but Jilted Generation stuff is quite rocky, Their Law, Break and Enter both of those are musts for me.

I dunno if people have seen Break and Enter live back in the day but I want to see Keith in the ball rolling around then breaking out then the bottles getting smashed on his head. Freaking awesome and I think they should do it.

Watch this video Glasto 95 and tell me this wouldn't own at Download this year?

I would like to give useful input to this but I can't. I saw them at T in the Park in 2010 and from what I can remember it was amazing. I jumped in a circle pit, pwned it and then found myself at the barrier. I got pick pocketed and would never have realised if my pal hadn't stood on my wallet. It was, and they were great but this was at the end of a 2 day boozy session like you wouldn't believe so I didn't exactly have my clipboard out making objective notes. Fond memories but I'm still going to see Slash instead.

I'd say they'll play:

breathe

Thunder

Firestarter

Warriors dance

Smack my bitch up

Omen

Poison

Voodoo people

Invaders must die

Run with the wolves

Their law

Out of space

+ 3/4 new songs

Im personally travelling up from Berkshire just to see The Prodigy on the Friday night - cant wait!

Hands-up, I'm not a big fan. But last time I saw 'em was a few years back at Leeds Fest and the set consisted of some bloke marching around the stage on one long (very long!) foul mouthed tirade at the audience. I'm not being a prude, it was just plain tedious and boring.

Anyway, I'll be watching Slash . . . .

Where does one get a curry at that time? :)

If the last 2 Fridays at Download are anything to go by, after Slash I shall be on auto pilot back to my tent and not remember getting there although the campers around will all talk to me the next day as I obviously made friends and drank with them! Thing is I'm the sober one out of our gang, others have missed the Fri night headliner every year.

  • 3 weeks later...

Seen the Liam interview with NME.

Says new album will probably be called 'How To Steal A Jet Fighter'

It will be a darker and harder album and less of a party album like Invaders must Die

Maxim and Keith have been working on it with him a few days a week, they've been included in the process more than ever before.

May play one new song at Download if he feels like it would work at the time

Is coming to Download to play their set and then leaving again, isn't staying to watch anyone else.

Came across as a bit of a dick, but we knew that already.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
