OTHER LIVES have now arrived in London, phew, am tempted to go and see them before EoTR, but probably not possible. There is a track of theirs on the 'free' cd with The Word magazine this month.

I have to admit BH may be right....

Bump them up a stage

in the spirit of the OPs request, a quick five point good news post:

- mrs RL finished a hard couple of weeks at work and is off for a fortnight, spending next week with her mum and our niece. nice.

- just finished a bubbly mixtape (i got will sheff in there, believe it or not) that sounds very summery indeed.

- england at edgbaston :)

- we just got invited to a bank holiday weekend party from the house that has great wine :) (good warm up for eotr, i might take the mix tape eeek)

- found some willing victims to come and see wild beasts in november, having assumed i'd be solo again

oh, and btw its THREE WEEKS to eotr

So many positives at the moment I don't know where to start!

+ Just seen Mark Kozelek at Union Chapel tonight and he was brilliant

+ EOTR in only 3 weeks!

+ before EOTR I get to see Other Lives next Thurs (Sue - come!), Pete Doherty on Sat, The Black Atlantic and Rue Royale at 93 Feet East next Tues (anyone else going?) and Sebadoh on 22nd

+ 2 days after EOTR I'm going to Morocco again

+ the rest of this year I have trips to Berlin and Toronto to look forward to as well as tickets for the Jeff Mangum ATP, Iron & Wine at Hackney, Jeff Mangum at Union Chapel, David Ford, Felice Brothers, AA Bondy and Portugal the Man...and that's just for starters :D

Just got the last of the 10 CDs I bought off ebay for about £23 in total! It's Drill A Hole In That Substrate and Tell Me What You See by Jim White, who apparently played End of the Road back in 2007. It's a beautiful album, maybe he might play again one day?

Also got FOUND's new album in physical form, Where The Humans Eat by Willy Mason and Escondida by Jolie Holland - some great buys there.

Heard a track by Other Lives yesterday - loved it! So in the last week or so there's x2 more bands I'm hoping to catch. I haven't needed to do the annual pre-EOTR myspace trawl this year there's so many people I want to see already.

2 weeks 2 days! :)

Also, the little one seems to no longer scream when putting her ear protectors on. maybe we'll see some bands after all! :)

Where has the summer gone this year?! Not looking forward to the summer being over but luckily I have the ever brilliant End of the Road to look forward to. Is it really just over two weeks to go?! Cannot wait!

And I finish up at my current job on Thursday - :D

    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
