Updated for you. He is unquestionably the greatest British manager of all time. Taking a provincal club from the North East of Scotland to European glory is an immense achievement, on a par with Brian Clough, and that's without his achievements at Man U.

Forgot about paisley, top 6. Alot of glaswegians in the list, must be a gene up there. I dunno better than stein, arguable though. First british team to win euro cup and all that. Paisley got left a great side but built his own too. You don't get three European cups over many years via the luck of inheritence, or the luck of anything else.

I'm not meaning to be mean, but you could tho say that Stein got a lucky cup run, in the way that all sorts of strange teams get to win cups via pure knock-out competitions. After all, winning a championship in Scotland doesn't take genius if you're managing one of the old firm, and having got into Europe via that, you can have everything fall your way and get lucky - but that only happens once of course.
