Everyone seems to think it's the best festival in the UK? It's one of the most well known, but far from the best... it used to be a crusty festival which is when it was probably the best... Reading shits all over it.. always has in my opinion.

Reading has been around as long as Glastonbury and without all the bullshit..

You are clearly on a,wind up, however quite a lot of glastoers are an absurdly precious bunch. In my opinion its a good festival, its bookings could be better , its overcrowded and some of the logistics admin is weak.

I know that we shouldn't feed the troll, but...

It's bookings could be better? Yes they could. But as it's the most diverse festival with it's line-up in the UK, no festival does their bookings better.

It's overcrowded? It's less over-crowded than your 'wonderful' Reading. This is an indisputable fact.

The logistics admin is weak? Then you'll have to blame to man who runs Reading festival, because those parts are down to him.

So that's Glastonbury 3 Reading nil.

Reading still has 40% of its tickets to sell, is the same price as the G, is just 3 days of music and can only offer a few bands in a scummy field and arena surrounded by rioting 18 year olds away from mummy and daddy for the first time. Glasto sold out in hours last October, 5 days of music, art and culture, call it a full holiday if you like, people of all ages, families, babies, nearly everyone on good behaviour.

Question to our dear Swinning...why raise this thread 2 weeks after the event when nearly everyone who uses this forum has f**ked off?

Glastonbury didn't sell out in 2008 but Reading did, dies that mean Reading was better than Glastonbury that year? Of course not.

Glastonbury *DID* sell out in 2008 - but only after the gates had opened.

It's only five years ago, btw, that Reading wasn't selling out until 6 weeks before the fest - every year.

Bit precious there,

Of course its impressive , not saying it isn't. Just that we all can always improve and learn from mistakes. It's not my job to say how and why but I'm a regular paying punter and I have to right to comment on the product / experience I'm buying .

Christ, you would think I had kicked your baby

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
