I saw the Decemberists there last year. Nice venue. It's a Victorian theatre, with balconies. Feels a bit like the Shepherd's Bush Empire in some ways.

In the 90s it was owned by Andy Taylor out of Duran Duran -- and did a pretty good student night.

The John Peel was having general sound issues that day wasn't it? and they did pretty much full set I think, cos the timings of everyone else was out as well (I stayed there from The Joy Formidable to EveryThing Everything, great few hours hiding from the afternoon blaze :D. Seemed more like a stage issue than an act issue tbh.

Yeah I feel quite sorry for that girl too, not going to threaten people who laughed though.

I remember being at Reading in 04 I think the day 50 Cent was bottled off. Earlier in the day (pop goth band) The Rasmus were bottled off stage. I remember having quite a chuckle about it when I heard then later seeing a young girl, maybe 12 years old, with a Rasmus t-shirt looking so miserable. She was with her Dad who she'd obviously pleaded with to go with her to a day at Reading to see her favourite band. I felt pretty ashamed for laughing after that.

The picture is sad!

I don't like JLS, but there's a lot of acts at Glastonbury that I don't like. And I wouldn't wish that sadness on people.

And the same for bands being bottled at Reading. I was with a couple of friends who liked Plain White Ts, they were bottled heavily (but stayed on to their credit), nevertheless the gig was ruined, and my friends didn't enjoy themselves because of some selfish pricks who thought they knew best and didn't consider anyone elses feelings. The whole thing made me very angry.

On a side, maybe I should get round to listening to The Joy Formidable.

I still can't work out if this was a wind up.

Swinning: if it wasn't, then you are a sad individual who is less likely to spot a subtext than a decent festival.

But my word - if it was a wind up then you are one pro of a Troll. Have you considered entering the trolympics?

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
