It's down to the new crowd..

Very much a V Festival and 'Party in the Park' vibe down there now...Kids without any respect for the place and not really knowing what it's about

Eavis can't make these things mainstream and over accessible without downsides such as this and lack of a decent vibe

the camping crew on Pennards were putting tags on people's tents asking them to take them home. How effective? I don't know. The mess left was horrible. Lazy, lazy people. We camped on Dairy, and the difference in how the field was left was quite different. I still can't believe they don't hammer the message home on the big screens between acts.

Did Cheryl Cole curate this year's festival?

Eavis is looking more out of touch and deluded as the year's go by; possibly high on flatulence from his cattle herd - has no idea the direction his festival's being pushed

Hmmm. Saw tons of rubbish on the ground at West Holts and the Other Stage.

Wondered how effective it would be if punters had been asked to help tidy up-send stewards into the crowds with loads of plastic bin bags asking everyone to clear up the space just around them?

Generally around us in Big Ground not too bad except for a group of 18/19 year olds - brand new tents (could tell because of guy ropes pure white and unravelled) - left. Plus not one bit of litter picked up the whole 5 days. Would chuck cans, missing their tents and landing outside other peoples. But many of similar age, no problem

Its a disgrace as we were packing up our 'camp' of 12 people the Green police came round n spotted every scrap of rubbish seperate dinto bags ready to be disposed of and they were that impressed they even helped take down a couple of tents and made our next door neighbours feel so abdc they did the same.

I thought the litter seemed really bad this year - worse than before. I agree with whoever posted a comment about putting messages on the big screens between acts - put up pictures of what the site looks like on a Monday afternoon, messages about how much it costs to clear up the site and how much less will go to charity as a result, that if you leave tents behind they have to go into landfill and can't be recycled. Everyone is given a lanyard with the running times on when they go in so you don't need to put the running times up on the screens - use the opportunity more usefully. Having said that, I never saw any bins being emptied (do they usually do it at night anyway?) and some points where it was obvious that bins were needed (next to food vans), there weren't any.

I am sure a lot of people don't even think about the fact that it is a working farm and is private land and the effects that their actions over 5 days could have long(er) term.

My other half and I kept wondering what on earth happens to all the litter that gets trampled into the ground when it's muddy and is then effectively buried - do they rake or rotavate the fields afterwards to churn it up again? If anyone knows, please post - it's intriguing us!

This really upsets me.

I got so angry about a group of 16-year-old idiots after Coldplay. Made a stack of chairs, covered it with blankets, plastic bottles and cups, and set fire to it by the main stage. I found it really shocking as they stood around laughing while stewards struggled to put it out.

I went to get binbags from the Pennards crew at the crossroads in the middle and I could not get any. Multiple times. Five or six attempts. Gave up in the end. We left our area as we left it and we took everything we could. Any rubbish we did have was piled neatly next to the road.

They used to give you binbags as you entered the site didn't they?

I was litter picking again this year, and have to say its going to take a long while to clear things up properly. last year after doing a field we could have it pretty much spotless, this year there are cans and things completely buried, and paper/cardboard that's started to disintegrate in the mud.
