Useless tips by and large. Doesn't sound like they've been to many festivals. pen and paper for leaving notes, pffft.I agree Bestival is not that child friendly, wellies are needed regardless of the forecast.

but there's no mention of gaffer tape...any list of essentials which doesnt include gaffer tape is written by a congenital idiot :)

I reckon whoever came up with that load of claptrap is an office based numpty whose colleagues have kids who perhaps went to Camp Bestival and overheard their conversations and this 'reporter' piped up in the office that they 'knew' about festivals but only via articles in the Daily Mail and also has an inability to look outside the window!

It's almost as bad as the Gadget Show's festy gadgets the other week.

Pen and paper? Last seen in use late last century at the Meeting Place by Joe Bananas!

DON'T: take a mobile phone

DO: take pen and paper

Hmm... so if we see tent thieves in action we'll leave a note for the police, shall we? And then if we break down on the A303 on the way home we'll write a note to the AA

;)

I like that they advise you to rent an extra large tent to take the kids along. Like renting tents is the normal way of camping at a festival.

Out of interest, what do you need gaffer tape for at a festival? I've been 12 times and never needed it.

Unless you're hoping joss stone is playing?!

Please don't say to fence off your own private area of the site though...

Although if the Torygraph says wellies aren't required, then maybe gaffer tape is needed to tie bin bags round your feet instead...

as someone on twitter who sahowed me this said "Festival tips from someone who's never been to one".

Some of those are so naive it's unreal.

Almost worthy of the work of the UK's most famous online journalist - DAILY MAIL REPORTER. It can't be easy posting out 20 puff pieces an hour on cute looking pandas and daft immigrants.

Hilarious stuff! Quite who the Telegraph thinks they are helping with that is anyone's guess.

I love the idea that there will be someone there next week stood in swimming trunks and trainers in a puddle looking forlorn holding a pen and soaked paper while their kids have run off to different corners of the site.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
