finding money on the floor

I have quite a good track record for finding money lying around generally - last week i found a tenner on the way to work. :D At Glastonbury, I seem to have even more luck... most years i'll spot a 5, 10 or 20 on the ground at some point.

My best find was when i found £90 in loose notes near the other stage one night after the bands had finished. No wallet or anything so no point handing it in, and i made sure i spent it all before i left, mostly on buying drinks for mates and so spreading a bit of happiness from what was undoubtedly a bit of a sh*tter for someone else. It was also the year after my ticket got nicked and i couldnt go so i considered it as karma coming back around.

If i found money in a lost wallet/ purse/ bag then i'd definitely hand it in, but i consider lost loose notes as fair game.

What's the most you've ever fonud at Glastonbury? Did you keep it?

Sorry to be a bore but 'legally' you have to enquire into who owns the money otherwise it could be classed as stealing........ you are fine as long as you whisper in a very very quiet voice 'anyone lost some money' (so so quiet that even you can't hear it yourself) then you are fine to claim it :ph34r::ph34r:

In 2004 (I think) I found a wallet on the floor during the WC match at the pyramid, as it was early on in the feat it had about £250 in it.

There was a driving license in there so i somehow managed to get a few hundred people around me singing the name on the licence in the style of a football chat, a few minutes later the owner of the wallet turned up wondering why hundreds of people where singing his name. I presented him with his wallet, to much rejoicing, and he went on his way a very happy man.

On the Monday morning, skint, hungry, tiered & hangover I found about 95 quid in pound coins no cars left nearby and nothing else there that would give any clue as to who lost it, so I kept it.

Last year my lad found a phone at Boomtown, so we texted the last number dialled saying we have your mates phone and explained where we were. A couple of minutes later we got a call back and we directed them to us.

Even though it was a old phone, they were really pleased and offered my then 16 year old son loads of different type of drugs as a thank you, he politely refused them all

I did find a phone last year and handed it in but never any money.

Found a fiver when out walking a couple of weeks ago though and it was a slightly strange feeling as although I had no chance of finding the owner it never really felt like 'mine'. In the end it ended up in the next charity box I saw.

Everyone to their own (and I'm certainly not judging) but I'm sure Oxfam / Water Aid could find a good use for lost festy cash.

    • Mount Kimbie were really good. Great Sound, great crowd. A nice way to end this day.
    • Yeah what was up with Jai. Not great tbh. Would like to hear other opinions bc I didn't really like him
    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!
