When are the cribs gonna be announced!

I think that IF they are announced it will be late may/early June. The next question is hard to answer, but I think Sunday main, however; if Muse have a 2 hour set then maybe not and I guarantee that Pulp and The Strokes will have 1h30 sets.

My overall view, however; is that they wont play. I just have a feeling that they won't.

Can't see them doing the Thursday at Leeds. The biggest act to do the Thursday were The Pigeon Detectives and that was a "secret" gig. I would say The Cribs are a bigger draw than them especially at Leeds and it would be dangerous to have them playing while there's no more acts on. I would love them to do the Thursday though!:D

Email just recieved from the cribs mailing list...

For those who couldn't get tickets for the upcoming sold out Coventry Kasbah show, you can still catch The Cribs over the summer at the following festivals. These will be the only appearances the band will be making this year.

May

21 - Friends of Mine Festival, Cheshire

June

06 - Rockness Festival, Loch Ness

12 - Get Loaded in the Park, London

July

10 - Wakestock Festival, Cardigan Bay

16 - Latitude Festival, Southwold

30 - Kendal Calling Festival, The Lake District

no chance of them playing in my opinion. if their last date is 30th july they wont wait till a month later to do their last gig i dont reckon. plus they play all the time and would be wise to wait till their next record is out before playing R/L again.

also you will notice a trend with their dates, they're playing smaller and less well known festivals, presumably on purpose. they will definitely wait till the main promotion push next time around to appear.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
