One of my all time favourite Melvin Benn comments was when he dissed Sonisphere for repeating bands year in, year out. For a start, Sonisphere are far better than Download for it (though I'm guessing he didn't mention Download because they're also promoted by Live Nation), but also they repeat bands less than Leeds/Reading.

The Subways, Frank Turner, Enter Shikari, Lostprophets, Taking Back Sunday, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bloc Party, Crystal Castles, Kaiser Chiefs. If they tour, they play.

Frank Turner playing V this year was a big shock for me, just because he's not at Leeds for the first time since he went solo. Mind, he played twice last year didn't he?

Point is- PLEASE no Subways or Frank Turner or Enter Shikari or Lostprophets or Taking Back Sunday or Bombay Bicycle Club or Bloc Party or Crystal Castles or Kaiser Chiefs this year. (unfortunately, Kaisers are already TBC)

I don't even dislike most of those bands, it's just that I've seen them all (I say all, I mean the ones I like) so many times now, and there's not always anyone else worth seeing on

Speaking of Reggae at Reading.... I was looking at a mid-00's lineup. Very surprised to see Lee 'Scratch' Perry on there.... and on the mainstage? That's really fucking cool. An act who i'd love to see back at Reading.. really surprised he was booked.

    • I got super early bird too....i was that chuffed i ticked a couple of the charity contribution boxes
    • I would be very surprised as well if they are are European Festivals and Werchter isn't one of them. They have done Roskilde before but with big gaps   They have done NOS once and they have done Mad Cool once while playing 3 times at Werchter during the period Mad Cool has ran.
    • Whole thing seems a bit sus to me.
    • wtf. Those Moroccons in Cueta can't just go into EU anyway, they would need to go through further checks before Schengen.
