Your Saturday NME is very strangely specific, you're aware that kind of thing is only usually done for contractual reasons right?

I think SOAD would be more like than Linkin Park. I think the majority of people would know about the same number of tracks by each band (maybe a couple more by LP) and SOAD have only played 1 UK show since the reunion so would have that extra push.

Think they're the only headliner rumour that's interesting me now the cure are pretty much out of the running

I think the third headliner is going to be of a heavier inclination now. A Slipknot, Linkin Park or SOAD etc. All three would be great but having SOAD and Slipknot together would be amazing.

Great guess to be fair but I do think Refused and Enter Shikari are a shout. If Mystery Jets didn't play there and LTJ did instead, I'd take that

I think the thing about Refused is that they are a UK fest exclusive for Soni but the band are considering doing some of their own shows so Soni changed their story a bit... just a guess.

Well I think it's pretty safe to say if there is a special guests high up on Main at Reading then it is probably Refused... I doubt with the sort of money that will be charging and the type of slot they are commanding at Sonisphere that Reading will be allowed to just announce them straight up.

I really want Refused there though. Hopefully they'll be lockup headliners against Foo Fighters or something similar. That way they don't have to announce it until after DL.

Plus in terms of rap/nu metal groups... I'd rather have RATM or Korn. Both, in my opinion did far better things than SOAD.

Well myself and a lot of other people at Download last year had a good sing a long to SOAD and they are effortlessly brilliant and they are not rap?

As much as I love Korn SOAD have been a more important band and some of their songs have just as much of a "message" as RATM's do. At the risk of sounding like a fan boy they are original but maybe their music is accessible enough for the current R&L audience.

It's all got very bitchy and depressing round here about the third headliner. We've gone from discussing Green Day & The Cure at the start of the week to talking about Bloc Party - because they've been away for all of 5 minutes, Mumford - on the back of 1 bloody album, Jay and Kanye - would be a huge booking but they are playing everywhere earlier in the summer, SOAD or Slipknot - wishful thinking on this one I think (which is good for me as I have no interest in either), or Linkin Park who I'd personally like but would be very uninspiring after talk of Green Day or The Cure. I honestly thought we would get something a bit special but all of the probables look a bit safe in comparison.

I just find it weird all these teenagers who seem to "know" what Reading Festival is all about, bizarre really, although it's good to have so many experts on the subject.
